I read some of the other comments. I am also having the problem of the sleeve not matching up with the armhole. The back of the sleeve matches the back bodice right to the edge, there is none left over to transfer to the front bodice as you demonstrated. When I rotate the sleeve front around the front bodice armhole there I run short a couple of inches before I get to the top. I used the crown depth as you suggested. 38 in bust - crown depth of 5 1/8 in.

Thanks for your simplified and well explained instructions. Your bodice is one of two I have found without having to insert an armhole dart. You have taken the complicated formulae out of the sleeve construction. Thanks again. An excellent tutorial. God bless you.

Hi .. I really need to ask you ,, what modification should be done to this pattern in order to get a well fitted sleeve?! .. I couldn't find any thing helpful in this topic .. If you can make video for that it would be so helpful ,, or you can just tell me what to do. thanks for your precious videos =)

Hi Angela. Your videos are amazing! Just one thing. I didn't see where you used the measurement for the wrist. The pattern you have created looked straight on both the U sides. I wonder how to adjust it using wrist measurement. Thanks in advance! :)

your videos are educative and helpful, thanks but I have some questions. The curv line you make by measuring U to B, B to T, T to F and F to U, are those measurements constant to all sizes. if not then it will be a great help to tell us the different measurements of different sizes.
@angelakanetv8 жыл бұрын
+Fatema Yasmin Akhi Yes, these measurements are pretty much constant. They can vary when it comes to creating different sleeve styles from your block and I hope to cover that soon. For the other variables, please visit my site - angelakane.com/sewing_patterns/pattern-cutting/ - The are included in the Pattern Cutting eBook for members but the variable are freely available for non members.

Hi Angela, I've followed your tutorial from the bodice to the sleeve but just at the end when I pivoted my sleeve around to T I found on mine the T falls about an inch below SP on the bodice instead of above. I have made my bodice to fit a size 40 bust. Is this why it doesn't fit? Are there any variables for the sleeve so it fits the size bodice I've made? Many thanks, Vicky

The extra inch is for ease, normally sleeve needs 2cm ease when ur done drafting. u draw a little gather but it should not form a bulk. Or u lower the top line and redraw the curve .

Please help me too... Hoe do i establish the depth of crown?
@ezpzmaths94535 жыл бұрын
@@alicemiller6913 She has taken a standard measurement of 5 inches which is the cap height but you could measure straight from shoulder point to the point on your arm parallel to your armpit...that is where you measured your top arm...cap height is a vertical measurement from shoulder bone to your top arm

How you calculate the cap height on the sleeve, i mean from where u get 36inch bust circumference, then you said , i should be 5 inch.. Can u explain in detail the formula.
@jojoremeny5 жыл бұрын
Easier method . Measure your top sleeve at shoulder seam point to wrist point .. measure under arm seam to wrist point . The difference is your cap height ...

Thank you for sharing ,would you please explain what is DC formula? I mean the length of from the shoulder to armpit thank you
@angelakanetv4 жыл бұрын
Hi Kitty, So for a 36"/92cm bust the Depth of Crown will be 5"/12.7cm. Add or subtract around an ⅛"/0.3cm for each size smaller or larger. So a 34"/87cm bust would have a 4⅞"/ 12.4cm Depth of Crown. You may find the metric version helpful - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mISznKuchr96q6s If you register on my site angelakane.com/amember/signup/4f2rZmbd, you will be able to download my Table of Average Measurement which includes the full range of Depth of Crown and all the other useful measurements. Mam I have 2 doubts. U marked front & back sleeve 2& 2 1/4" . Is it common measurement for all? If not , how calculate this ment. How calculate cap length m. Ment ?
@angelakanetv8 жыл бұрын
Hello Nimmy, Yes, of course Pattern Cutting is all about variables and there is a limit to how many you can specify in a basic tutorial. The sleeve head I have recommended is quite a flat one and many styles may be better with a 5 ½" sleeve head in which case these measurements would be 2 ¼" and 2 ½" for B and F. But the measurement down for B and F is very much a starting point and changes would be made at fitting. Highly fitted garments would need adjusting but for the kind of easy fitting styles that I recommend for beginners to pattern cutting, this generalised measurement is good. Please see all my variables on this page if you haven't done so already - angelakane.com/sewing_patterns/pattern-cutting/ Thank you very much for commenting.
