By far the worst tutorial I've ever seen in terms of explaining how to do something but simultaneously the best tutorial in terms of production quality.

Take the final shape and lay it over 2 pieces of fabric best to put right sides together (rst) cut out that shape +1/2" for seam allowance. Separate piece a and b seam the triangle in the middle together, it's a dart. Next, put a&b together again rst and sew from the bottom left to top right going clockwise. You should have a cool looking hood, then all of need to do is finish the edge at the front (right line) by folding 1/4" in then again and sew. Then sew the bottom line to the collar of your shirt/hoodie/cloak and you're done!

This is an excellent hood draft. Wish you continued with the finished pattern and the sewn final prototype worn by a model/person.

Hey there! Is the dart in the hoodie what creates that shape? Or do all hoodies have that?

Okay, I LOVE this! But is there any similar pattern ready to just print and use? I can never learn how to make a hood as perfect and beautiful as this one.

I would love to see you draft one of these very popular oversized cowl style hoods, the sort that folds back on itself. :)

i dont understand the 40cm 28cm and 32 cm. which one is 40 which is 28 and which is 32????
@Itsmexo91 Жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! I drafted it but I am second guessing myself is the 40cm the line on the right (hood opening) or the top horizontal line? Ahhh I only have so much fabric! (I’m altering a cape and adding a hood.) Off to raid some of my scrap fabric 😂

What method do you work on to create the Pattern?
@je21784 жыл бұрын
What is the exact purpose of the dart? And would this also work on a deeper neckline? I love hoods and made multiple patterns but the drape on this one is great

wooo, I declare your new fan of your beautiful videos on KZbin ... I already followed you several months ago on Instagram, excuse me, I have a doubt, are all the points marked on the paper separated by an inch? I love how fast you do the pattern. You are very skilled! Thank you for sharing your knowledge, greetings from Mexico. 👁️💜

kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmfUdGV_e890aqs But you don't have to make the center of the back of the neck at 90 degrees as the lady in this link says. You can do it as shown in this video if you want a fuller back of the hood.

Now how do we make a hood that fits well, instead of this over sized style.
@THEMODELISTESTUDIO3 жыл бұрын
You could try a sample and pin it to figure out your ideal shape. I would also recommend to check mesurement of a hood you like. Hope you could figure out your ideal shape.
@calholli3 жыл бұрын
@@THEMODELISTESTUDIO You should do a video on that (if you wanted).. "fitted hood" -- Just because there isn't one on youtube at all. I just want the typical tight fit, so that when I pull the strings, it wraps my head like a helmet. lol.. and doesn't have any excess flopping around. I have several hoodies that are like this, I could just copy their pattern.. but It would be nice for someone to outline the process of taking a large oversized hood and tailoring it to fit to size. (thanks for the reply)
