"It’s Alright With Me” is one of many amazing songs penned by the genius that is Skip Scarborough (“Can’t Hide Love” and “Love Ballad” being 2 others) and was the title track of the album that also included Patti's disco anthem “Music Is My Way of Life” (which Skip also wrote and produced). It has been an established favourite on the UK’s modern soul scene for ages. The original is obviously a great piece of music but only ever released in its standard 4 min album version. I wanted to give it a beefy extended playable disco mix with more drawn out intro and break down, something, which it never had back then, even though it was a single.

the strings and the horns...its all about that. And then you throw her vocals on top of it, and you get magic. All the great divas, fade, vocally..because they're human. The only one who isn't is Leontyne Price, who is 94, now. I saw her at my younger brother's graduation, two yrs go...I was there with family. And it is a performing arts school. Someone on staff there, got her to not just show up for this graduation in New York...but she actually sang. And I kid you not, the hairs on my arm stood up, because she STILL sounded like she was near the top of her game. My family's mind was blown. OK, so there's that...but where Patti is concerned, in popular music, when she was in her prime, Patti LaBelle didnt really have a peer or competitor when it came to performing or just sheer talent. She can sing ANYTHING. Yea, her fire doesn't burn like it used to...but that's what KZbin is for. To show you, in numerous videos, that this woman had scary singing ability.

Oh wow! Joey Negro retouched one of my all-time Patti tunes! This is sublime - Joey added just enough of his remix magic to take this track to the dancefloor - dancin' & prancin'! (I was always amazed that there was never an original 12" mix of this years ago when it was first released in the 70s during disco's reign - would have been killer.)
