I've been DJing for over 20 years, and it was only about two years ago that a dJ friend of mine, who also is a record buyer for a local record store, shared with me two unopened copies of Remixed With Love on vinyl. I have heard of Joey Negro, but honestly have not explored his work deeply, even though I'm a soul boy, a house music lover, and have grown up in the 1960s/70s/80s on funk and soul music. And this Mtume tune I have not listened to in decades since radio....but my God when I heard the Joey Negro remix, I was not only taken back, but also marveled how well done that the essence and spirit of the song has been retained. This is one of my favorites of the remixes, along with Eddie Kendricks's "Goin' Up In Smoke." Really, so many nice ones, and I look forward to playing those tracks out in the near future. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for the respect you've given to these classic tracks.
