Been a fan of Miss Patti since day one...she deserves a spot right up there with Aretha imo. I was in a theater class many years ago and heard a girl sing this and it always stuck in my brain...imagine my surprise when I found this on KZbin years later! If Ree-Ree is the Queen and Gladys the Empress, than surely Miss Patt is the Goddess of soul💗

I remember watching this production when it first aired, and Patti's performance of this song hit me right between the eyes. She is phenomenal. I have the recording and play it often.
