My first wife died a month after our 23rd anniversary. I waited 7 years to remarry. Being widowed is something I don't wish for anyone. When you are a Widow you are "other".

It is frequently shown that the happier a husband was the faster they remarry... plus he had a small female child and no local grandparents. I’m pleased that he’s got another partner for them both.

So we’re just gonna ignore the fact that Patton killed his wife, and later admitted she said she was planning on leaving him that night. His kid has no chance in life without daddy’s money with zero adult influence in her life

Anyone that gives Patton shit for falling in love and marrying again should be kicked in the genitals. Jesus Christ, how about minding your own fucking business and being happy that he's moved on. He's a legendary comic and has been through a lot. LOVE his work.
@NxDoyle7 жыл бұрын
I didn't know Patton was in a new relationship. That's nice. Happy for him. Love is heaven. Grief is hell. I've been thinking more about his situation, getting married again in a few days. It must be either that his back and forth with Meredith served to thrust him through grief to the other side far more quickly than it normally does, insofar as there are time periods of grief, or he has just jumped early. I hope it's the former.

Basically, the same reason so many people believe "God has a plan for all of us, and it's not our place to question it. " Most of my family believes this. Most of them don't even believe free will exists. My aunt once asked me. When my aunt found out I'm an atheist, she asked "Well, if God doesn't exist, how can demons exist?" I told her I don't belive in them either." So she responded "Then how do you explain when you do something bad? " I told her that i don't do anything "bad" because I have empathy for others, and wouldn't want to disadvantage anyone, but if I did, I'd recognize that it was my own selfish decision. " This actually confused her.
@paulinegallagher78212 жыл бұрын
I was born an Irish Catholic but I've been an atheist since I was old enough to know better. Everyone I work with is religious. Actually everyone I know is. If you question it, you're accused of things like bitterness, 'oh you just don't like the way life has gone for you' (both parents passed away in last 2.5 years and I suffer from depression) that has nothing to do with it. I just can't believe that in 2022 people still put all their faith in an invisible entity who serves no real purpose except to provide reassunce we're going somewhere better after we die and to act as some sort of moral compass on earth. If ghosts aren't real and santa isn't real then why do people still think God is

The "Building 7" of Las Vegas is the fact that the CEO of MGM sold off close to 90% of his stock holdings 20 days before the event. No man would be so stupid as to implicate himself like that. It isn't insider trading if he was responding to an outside threat. I believe the only thing that explains this is that he was told about the "shooting" beforehand. Possibly he was threatened by an old rival who now finds himself with a great deal of power. Someone who could request and approve FEMA drills.

Mitral valve prolapse 24:56 is what Patton was talking about. There is that, and other issues his wife could have been dealing with, or MVP and the sleep medication could have been the cause of death. Those that die from Sleep Apnea are usually people who refused to use the CPAP or APAP machine, and their heart over time is strained to the point where it gives out. My father died due to that, its believed that he had stopped using his machine, but I'm not totally sure. They never did an autopsy so I don't know the cause. I had thought though that Oswalt's wife had died due to cancer, or that is what I had read.

Michelle had alprazolam, Adderall, which is a combination of dextro- and levo- amphetamines and, I think unaccountably, fentanyl. There is no reason to suggest that Michelle's possession of fentanyl was illicit, I just wonder why someone who is not in acute pain is being prescribed it. It is a curious thing about health care in America. Personally I found it very odd that insurance somehow meant that, your condition notwithstanding, the pharmacopeia is laid out like a candy store. I have a distinct memory of returning to Australia from America for a month and visiting my GP, who had to jump through a few administrative hoops as far as prescribing a few things. Returning to America, getting insurance after my green card, my doctor virtually threw opioids and benzos at me.

A conspiracy is only as strong as the weakest person keeping said secret. Two people might keep a secret virtually forever. Ten thousand people keeping a secret is virtually a known thing. Conspiracies DO happen, but the theories about them are infinitely more complex than the reality.
@paulinegallagher78212 жыл бұрын
Name one conspiracy where it's since been unveiled and proven to have been a conspiracy. One where thousands kept silent on the truth, and let the world believe it was something else instead. Name one. Conspiracies for the most part are on the pages of a John Grisham novel or in Oliver Stones head. Kevin Costner gave a very noble portrayal of a man who was essentially a fantasist. Look up the real Jim Garrison. People who love their conspiracy theories just cant stand the thoughts of their being a rather mundane and typical reason for a tragedy. Diana's limo driver was drunk. Oswald wanted to kill the president because he was mentally unstable. The theorists want to believe the establishment is behind everything because they are anti establishment. Anti establishment people tend to be unemployed hippies

I can't dignify many of the alternative notions as "theories". The formula is essentially: (Apophenia + Hubris) - "Official" Reportage = Conspiracy. I totally understand the place whence the desire for answers comes, because it is the same in all of us. The divergence occurs when people view an extraordinary event, like 9/11, JFK's assassination or the Moon landing and make the assumption that an extraordinary event can not have an ordinary cause. Or that the cause requires a level of technology and effort beyond our capacity, so they minimize the effect. The real problem in the 21st Century is not that people develop apophenic notions, it's that they develop alternative causes before _any_ evidence is at hand. The next time there is a mass shooting in America (any day now) you will see, within an hour or so, conspiracy uploads on KZbin, the Texas Sharpshooter fallacy in force to the extent that the close groupings include knots in the wood of the barn.
