The Stepmother is literally the absolute best in my eyes. How she wears the role, portrays her- sings her lines?? God damn. Obviously i have to go back. Just hearing their story, and feeling the vibes.. They more than owe up to those they represent. Im in awe.

The stepsisters are my favorite thing about this song. I mean... Just look at them!! They are perfectly well played. You know, Pattycake made a video where the stepsisters react to tic toc videos of the Tough Love song and we can watch how talented those actresses are!

😁Woah. I love the dark theory about Mother Gothel potentially cannibalizing Rapunzel and getting the sundrop's power inside her. The thing I've always wondered is would the person with the sundrop in them become immortal like the flower was and would they need to still sing the song to harness its power? If so, what an implication for Gothel! I also really like how they discuss the Brother Grimm's versions of the stories and other potential theories of Disney movies. Hellcat really carries these reaction videos! I do agree with Depraved that the male villains should have more of a place in the storyline though- I was thinking that myself when watching all the way to season 2. Great reaction!

In gothels defense, the flower was free Territory and she was legally using it. It's not her fault the king was selfish and dug it up

Your literally going against what you said in her defense,as you said it was a free territory so he had all the rights to dug up the flower.And it was on the kingdoms territory and the kingdom belongs to the king so Gothel had no right to use it.

In gothels defense!? The same lady who kidnapped a baby and manipulated her for multiple years just use the power of the flower that she possessed. Not to mention she was willing to kill Eugene. Please go back and rewatch the movie cause what you just said was ridiculous.😬🤦♀️

It is so interesting to see two people who have such an ominous sounding the title for their KZbin channel get such a kick out of, and obviously know, the Disney movies. I really enjoy your observations since the viewpoint is different from mine. I think for me what makes these three villainesses in particular so awful, and maybe what Mr. Depraved has a problem with, is that these are so obviously human, charged with the responsibility of caring for others. They are choosing to be evil where the others frequently have a supernatural origin. It also really bothers me that they are doing this to their own stepchildren. The Captain Hook theory is a really interesting one. You obviously have spent a lot of time thinking about this stuff. I have watched all these and I am seeing new things because you are presenting different points of you. Excellent reaction and analysis. I never ever caught the Roger Rabbit connection.I still would like to know where they came up with the name. I still have to laugh about the PaddyCakes made out of Irishman. ☘️

15:19 I'm curious where Hellcat got the backstory for Lady Tremaine, I don't remember that from the film. *Edit:* Never mind, I didn't realize they had done a live action remake. Shows you how much attention I've paid to Disney in recent years!

Funny you should mention Roger Rabbit. That movie was the inspiration for the name Pattycake Productions. For a terrific song and a live action villain, try their Born Bad, sung by Cruella. (And Tony’s costumes in that one are to die for!). The original song is one of their best! At a tangent from this video was their Step Sisters React video. The two actresses are roommates and were so hilarious at an after party that Layne and Tony concepted a video of them (in character) ad libbing reactions to Tic Toc videos of people doing Tough Love. (Among them you’ll see people like the American Sirens and Tim Faust. ) And you don’t have long to wait for VoicePlay. Patrons have their next one and it could be released as soon as tomorrow. (Eli - and the rest - get to rock out!)

Another quick thought on Pan and Hook: In the very first version of the Peter Pan tale there was no villain or antagonist beyond Pan himself who was indeed a MASSIVE creep, but when Barrie expanded it into the classic play and it's novelisation that then would serve as the basis of every adaptation, sequel or prequel ever since, Disney or other, he introduced Hook as a full fledged baddie and toned Pan's creepiness and savagery down compared to the earliest version though he is still a pretty huge asshole that is further softened in basically every single adaptation. I see people sometimes speculate about Hook, but Barrie is actually pretty clear about him having been a genuine, notorious pirate in the real world, associating him with other famous historical and fictional pirates, claiming that he served under Edward "Blackbeard" Teach before becoming captain of his own ship and that he was the only man whom Long John Silver (from Robert Louis Stevenson's "Treasure Island" adapted of course by Disney as "Treasure Planet") ever feared. A true pirate's pirate, so to speak. I seem to remember that the novel even mentions that Hook was such a menace and scourge to the British Empire's (who, yes, were of course much greater pirates than even Hook, Blackbeard and Silver could ever dream of being) trade that he became a subject of debate in the House of Lords and that even at the time of the Darling kids' travel to Neverland, a time when Hook was long believed dead, the news of him being actually still alive would still have caused an uproar in Parliament. So he was an outright enemy of the state (which actually makes him more sympathetic in a way, now that I'm thinking about it), quite impressive. So Hook is definitely a stonecold killer who not only would murder kids pretty much for shit and giggles but who also casually kills his own men merely for getting on his nerves. Nonetheless he never seems to run out of pirates, which would seem like a possible confirmation of the theory that some lost boys grow up to be pirates. Some might possibly also get adopted by the indian tribe, perhaps the place where you are least likely to be murdered by your own side (though you still could easily end up being killed by at least the pirates and possibly by the lost boys as well). But otherwise the pirates are the only option and I definitely wouldn't put it beyond Pan to do exactly what you suspect him of. Which is actually seriously effed up, because going to the psychopathic and unpredictable, tyrannical pirate captain who might murder them on a whim at any time is still the preferable option because while Hook MIGHT easily murder them, Peter Pan will kill them for certain if they age out of the Lost Boy role. PS: As shown in further episodes it is clearly shown that both Lady Tremaine and the Evil Queen really upped their game and turned their sight to much greater ambitions beyond their tather petty (tgough still horrible) evil of their original movies (though Tremaine already did in Cinderalla III which was really pretty good for a Disney direct to DVD sequel, even a genuine improvement on the original movie in some ways), which I approve of. Though on the other hand I also always liked the fact Disney often told rather grounded stories where the fate of the universe didn't always have to be on the line.

In the movie Gothel cuts some of Rapunzel's hair before kidnapping het and it immediately loses it's shine and thus implicitely it's magic. That easily could be interpreted as a sign that the magic only works as long as part and parcel of the still living body of Rapunzels. So killing her or even just cutting off parts off her body for consumption would make the magic go away as well. Of coirse, if Rapunzel's hair didn't make her immortal too, Gothel would eventually have needed to force her to start breeding in hopes that a child would inherit the magical properties. If that worked out successfully she almost certainly would have murdered Rapunzel, before raising her child or children the same way she did with the mother. I could imagine her ideal would be to have Rapunzel give birth to two children with magic hair, taising both to have a spare in case one died in childhood but separating them and locking them up alone as soon as possible, telling them both their sibling died. I could see her eventually killing one off them once both had grown up sufficiently to make it seem unlikely they would suddenly die any time soon. Because having to control two adults or teenagers would be more difficult and risky and surviving their most vulnerable years the need for a spare/insurance might not feel as pressing, opening the possibility of keeping only the one appearing to be more easily controllable.

It absolutely makes sense that Hook and his crew could be lost boys given the only people on Neverland are Indians, pirates, and boys Peter brings to Neverland. Even Once Upon a Time played with the idea that Peter Pan is the bad guy, being an evil overlord over Neverland. Another theory says he's a demon or an unassuming form of the Grim reaper that kidnaps children to bring them to the afterlife. If you notice in the original movie, Peter does say he had been listening to Wendy's stories before he met them so he might have changed his appearance to match her description of him and deceive the children into going with him.
@lukasbauer87837 ай бұрын
Even if Pan may be a monster too, Hook is nonetheless a brutal, hardened career criminal who was a murderer many times over long before ever getting himself stranded in Neverland.

Tremaine only treated her biological daughters marginally better than she treated Cinderella. Though I imagine she very well may have treated them better too before their fatther, her original husband, died.
