Lost my drone to a river after hitting a tree 🎄. So glad you had the great save. Jim

Worked there at that princess town for a season, beautiful area, thank you for the info on the spot I’ve been looking for a good spot for when I return. And yes some friends and I that had read the book hiked out to The spot Chris was.

That spot I have learned has been blocked by the railroad. No longer available for parking. 😟

What are the coordinates of where you were camped? We are headed that way in June.

Lol! I go in end of April beginning of May, it is free and no tourist and you can drive 30 miles in on your own. The Grizzly's waking up, I've got some great video of it...although I was way, way to close....across that skinny little road from each other!

We went to your free camping spot followed your coordinates and there is a no trespassing sign by the Chief of the Alaska Railroad!! That really sucked!!

You need more altitude when flying your drone. Excellent recovery though!
@RVingtoAlaska7 жыл бұрын
The problem is when he started the "follow me" function he was at a lower altitude down by the dry lake bed. When he climbed out up to camp the drone never gained elevation hence why it flew into the tree. Lesson learned.

After 10 days what is your tanks status?
@RVingtoAlaska7 жыл бұрын
Our longest we've ever gone is 12 days but in this instance we still had a wiggle room in both fresh, black and grey. When boondocking long periods we utilize very short navy showers when we know we will be out that long and also use baby wipes. Usually we can comfortably go 7 days of normal water and bathing use before getting low when we know we dont have to push the tanks. Our rig specifically has 100 fresh, 75 grey and 50 black.

So dose the drone just follow you as u move or do I have to fly it.
@RVingtoAlaska6 жыл бұрын
There is a "follow me" program that I used that is built in to the controller. I was using that program and didn't take into consideration of my elevation gain as I drove the trail.
