Jane Grey My theory- Paul thought he could treat everyone in the house like his dogs(Cody quote) but you had an Alpha dog(Cody), a in heat dog(for Cody) that wasn't going to be your bitch, two strays(Mark/Elena) and three pit pups(Alex/Jason/Josh) that grew some balls and turned on you. Had he not chosen to continue lying to everyone in their goodbye messages with things like "if your seeing this then they betrayed me too and I'll probably be seeing you next week" and just owned that he played them like Josh did(or Mike Boogie also in All-Stars) then I think he would have gotten more votes. Honestly I think he would have gotten most if not all, with the exception of Cody of course since he told him early in the game he would win. Most of the jury was huge bb fans and would have respected that. If you rewatch the season and pay attention to their facial expressions during the goodbye messages several were hurt once hearing Paul lie then Josh tell the truth.

Except unlike Paul, Josh understood the importance of being honest and upfront with the jury, and that eventually gave him the edge. Notice how both of them handled the goodbye messages part...Paul continued to lie to everyone and deny all responsibility for what he helped orchestrate, while Josh was completely open and honest about his part in everything that happened in the BB house. Likewise, a lot of the jury respected that Josh would call people out to their face and own up to his strategy when asked about it by the jury, while Paul hiding behind others and telling unnecessary lies even at jury questioning wasn't as well received. Moral of the story, always be honest and own up to your game, and that will get you jury votes.

Nope. It's absolutely not true that Paul had no control over the jury votes, because it was a direct result of his actions in the game, and not owning up to those actions when confronted, that cost him the win. To me, that implies that he could have controlled the votes if he lost because of choices he made.
