In the Star Trek universe the guy that invented warp drive is named... Zefram Cochrane (played by James Cromwell in the movies..) 👍🏼

Got it! Haha fun play on words there…

Cochrane, Paul is a real boy. Zephram Cochrane is a character who met the first aliens (Vulcans) and got us to Warp Speed. The Tim pedal changed my life.

TIM is 🐐 - such a classic staple in the overdrive chronology.

Zefram (pronounced Zefrum) Cochrane is the first human being to achieve warp speed in the year 2063. Played by James Cromwell in the film Star Trek: First Contact in 1996. The character first appeared in an Original Series episode in the 60's.

Good demo. No wonder you had the Mid down all the way in the beginning. It sounded much better that way.
@AmbientEndeavors3 ай бұрын
Yea, it's definitely the focal point of the pedal that active MID control. It gets a bit...much in my opinion too; a little bit goes a long way. Although for those that like that mid-forward, almost tweed / Marshall thing, the way it affects the saturation is kind of cool.

It feels like its asking for a bright EQ kick from a Timmy running in front. Also curious how it would sound stacked with a lightspeed, freq knob past noon 🤔
@AmbientEndeavors3 ай бұрын
Probably would be cool in tandem with a Lightspeed; the more stiff top end of the LS would bring a little more definition to the Zefram I bet.

Kinda cool, but very very dark sounding to me.
@AmbientEndeavors3 ай бұрын
it definitely leans darker, with the MIDS adding more "weight" than sparkle for sure. With the treble up past 3 you can get a bit more top end shine, but you're right, it's darker in general.

So he built a Jan Ray Vemurem, Paul had a go at a diy vendor saying the schem. isn''t even the same etc ,well wampler jhs etc all make modified pedals from other companies ,the Vemurem dosen''t sound like a Timmy paul slightly fatter and warmer
@cluap2 ай бұрын
? This isn't built around any other pedal. It's an original design I've been sitting on for years.
@fretlvlmidnightАй бұрын
If I recall correctly he tried to pass the Jan Ray off as an original design when it’s a Timmy knock off.
@peterliolis5482Ай бұрын
@@cluap I look at John Maher PRS Strat. well what can you say original designs have been copied and modified for years the marshall blues breaker amp , and more ,the jan ray sounds different .Just like a 808 and a ts9 wampler says it is component tolerance , probably modification Brian 808 has smoother top end- like the jan ray
@jared8324Ай бұрын
The Timmy came before the Jan ray, The Jan ray is stolen from Timmy. The only 2 modern overdrives pedals that have been original designs and not stolen are the klon, and the Timmy. The rest are stolen from tubescreamer, od1 s, Bluesbreaker etc. Anyone can clone a circuit, but hardly no one can build and original circuit
@peterliolis5482Ай бұрын
@@jared8324 But they dont sound the same the Jan Ray has a smooth top end and the 808 is smoother than the ts9 ,there is enough modification to call them different .
