Brian Glover’s Walkman.
Richard is mourning the non-existent victims of the Oxford Circus incident and the personal connection he had to them, but life goes on for all of us not killed in that delusional event and so it’s time to welcome a man with the second best moustache in comedy, it’s Paul Chowdhry.
They chat about making movies with Tim from the Office, John Malkovich and Jim Davidson, sadness versus depression, how Paul filled Wembley arena despite a relatively low-key TV appearances, how racism in the seventies compares to 21st century racism Celebrity Squares, Noel’s House Party, New Year’s Eve with the Landises, the tasering of hecklers in Lowestoft and why the critics don’t always see what the public see.

Last few days I've been on a cracking run of Paul's videos, considering how miserable it may otherwise seem I couldn't be happier that it's led me back to rewatching this alone on Christmas morning. Top geezers both 😎. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❤ (camaraderie, not whingeing)

BBC Staffer: I really think we should commission a series with this guy, Paul Chowdhry. He's very funny, hard-hitting and represents the frustrations of the young British Asian populus really well. BBC Head of Comedy: Oh no, we've got Citizen Khan for that....and if we really get stuck we can do something with Meera Syal and Sanjeev Bhaskar. BBC Staffer: Yeah....

It's really interesting how many times Richard says things are really interesting during an interview. It would be really interesting to find out how many times he said it in this one

I loved this! First saw Chowdhry on the epic Taskmaster and absolutely loved him in it. I watched some of his stand up which was obviously very well written but I wasn't too into it. However, I think he's brill and would love to see more of his stuff. Anyway, great interview, Rich - liked the Axbridge mushroom farm reference, that place smelled awful back in the 90's as I am sure it still does.

Paul is sikh and Tommy likes to make friends with them and use them in his islamophobia > it's enough for some to believe he's not racist. Whereas Paul being a bit clever knows that islamophobia is just plain racism

Will Jim Jefferies ever be a guest? It's an interesting journey he has had from very un-PC drunken live stuff and being both robbed at knife point and punched in the face on stage in Manchester, to now doing some American chat show. I guess now he is 'big' in the US, this wouldn't appeal.
