urbanphil0s0phy yeah the thing I heard on triple j was that they had booked someone else to appear for like a version. But they pulled out due to the lead singer because of illness. So they called Paul up with 24 hrs notice and he said he would put something together and came up with this. Major under appreciated talent if you ask me.

Check out his solo album "everything is true" or his band Something for Kate. Because on top of his voice and technical prowess his songwriting is brilliant. He's also a joy to see live. I remember how wonderful it was discovering his music for the first time. I'm so glad I did. Enjoy!

Listening to Something For Kate in the 90s I used to think Paul Dempsey had one of the best male voices I'd ever heard. Last time I listened to them was on a CD in 2004. Then I head this playing on Triple J yesterday and I thought to myself "could it be him?'. Googled some lyries and yep, it's Paul. I love coming across new artists, but it's good to reunite with old favourites who - for whatever reason - have not been part of your life for a while.

This is such a heavy song for me hits hard. My best friend died in 2015 and I had sever deppression and anxiety from it. I remember years later I was at tipping point I was sick nearly every day I lost 10 kgs lost my direction in life. My wife got me to talk to someone. I left early to see my counciler for the first time. Took a long drive along the coast and this cover came on. It hit so hard I had to stop never has a songs lyrics got me like this song. It was my first steps to getting my life together. Whenever I put this song on it transports me back to that day to that drive on the coast. ✌❤ If you need help believe me it can be found and in many ways.
