Hi, man. Thanks and congrats for this work. I love this version. It's transcripted for Eb instruments or concert?
@SharpElevenMusic3 жыл бұрын
Hi Fillipe, thanks! Yes, it's published on Music Notes and you can find it in both Eb and C there. This is the link: www.musicnotes.com/l/hVVqP It's by the way a part of a Paul Desmond transcription bundle consisting of 9 transcriptions (3 of them have melodies and lead sheets too), just in case you dig more Desmond to study :) www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/col.asp?ppn=CL0009361

I really like this, it's great to play. Would it be possible to make a version that is just the backing track without the sax line?
@SharpElevenMusic8 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul, sorry for the late reply, but I'm happy to let you know there is a play along for this solo available at edge-effect.media/services/arrange-notation.html are there also other solo's you like from Paul Desmond (or other saxophonists for that matter)?
@paulburgess41358 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude... but where exactly? I'm having trouble finding it on the site. Also if you could a transcription of the bari sax intro and solo at the beginning of charles mingus's moanin - that would be cool as most transcriptions skip out half his intro

It's quite paralell with the transcription link, at the right side of the website (with the green button). That's by the way a good suggestion you have there! Have to see when I find time, but I might put that one on my list :)

Nice, thanks for posting. Sounds like Steve Gadd overplaying the drums.

On bar 34 where he plays the high F what exactly is he doing there? I see the small flat symbol behind the note - does that mean he's shifting between F and F flat (E)?
@shernandez30012 күн бұрын
Yeah, sounds to me like he is doing a bend but articulated, starting on the eb but very quickly moving to the F

Either that drummer needs to calm down or Desmond needs to bring more energy to the song, but I feel like it doesn't really match here...
@SharpElevenMusic2 жыл бұрын
I've actually always really liked exactly that contrast 😁 but I'm sure Desmond would not have liked the drumming. He prefered the most basic of drum playing with almost no fills, he even almost quit the Dave Brubeck quartet cause of Joe Morello playing way to hot
