I agree with this. He is a smarter player now. He was unstoppable in Houston but he was not as smart then. Back then he was just chugging shots after shots after shots Yes, he was making them but he didn't leave anything for his teammates -- and even as a PG, he was not as effective in making others good; often, his strategy was to run down the clock and then had to make forced shots with defense on top of him that tired him out thus he would lose any energy by the 4th quarter of a game. Right now, he knows how to conserve his energy with less dribbles, more thoughtful and strategic passes, and picking less contested shots. With Clippers, thanks to the guidance of coach Ty Lue, he has become a great PG that knows how to read the game on the floor -- and know better now when to shoot and pass unlike when he was in Houston. I never liked Harden's game back then, but now that he is becoming a cerebral player, I am rooting for him.

Harden has actually not fallen off a cliff through these 4 games. At least not single-digit scoring on crappy efficiency falling off a cliff. Outside of Game 3 where the Clippers mainly lost because of turnovers, trying to re-integrate Kawhi, and the Mavs' defense, he was amazing in Games 1 and 4. In Game 2, he shot poorly from 3, but shot decently overall and had a hand in 13 points in the 4th that kept it close. This has been one of his more consistent series-so far. Paul George was outstanding as well. The block on Kyrie and the fallaway three were both huge plays.
