He and his uncle were trying to force their way to LA from the Spurs. The Spurs correctly diagnosed that he had a degenerative knee, and it would never truly get better. But he was never going to stay anywhere he went. Then he completed his master plan of getting to LA. Too bad he ain't won shit since, but that wasn't part of the plan. James Harden is also now part of that action. Pretty sure Clippers are gonna give big contract to James Harden soon cause they have been back to a corner that is the only option.

Kawhi is an undercover Laker who’s sole purpose rn is to torment and bankrupt the Clippers💀
@jjcometa93338 ай бұрын
Atp they don't have any choice either. They signed kawhi to an extension. Harden is a free agent. PG has a player option he can either opt in to and clippers can trade that, it's not gonna get them a whole lot tho but it's 1 year so that might interest some team willing to clear cap space next year. Or PG might decline and maybe they resign him. Westbrook is for sure gonna be declining his player option. So do you resign 1 of them and maybe get under the tax. Or sign them to run it back again and risk going into luxury tax, which is gonna penalize them even more as time goes on they're on there. Again they don't have a choice unless they blow it up and decide to trade kawhi and in turn PG might just decline the option as he doesn't want to rebuild. At that point tho you're gonna go to your new stadium with a bunch of nobodies trying to tank.

@04:10 Rich people are so f🤬ing entitled! Steve Ballmer got sued by the Knicks' owner and preferred to buy the forum for $400M. What happened to the old good capitalism as the spirit of competition? 🤔

State taxes aren’t that simple but I get your point
@guiwhiz8 ай бұрын
Now look I would fully understand if the Clippers were asking him to take some kind of massive pay cut, but if they're offering him the same deal that Kawhi got? At some point, you do just look greedy when either contract would set your family up for generations AND you've already MADE enough to set your family up for generations. The only thing PG13 should be aiming at is a ring and his legacy at this point. The Clippers have the talent, but need a top-shelf big to compete in the Western Conference playoffs. Freeing up a little cash from the contracts of PG13, Kawhi, and Harden to do that should be something worth having a conversation around.

6:34 that math is wrong, nba players pay state taxes for each game in the state the game was played in so half of the games pay would be taxed at the 12.5% then the other games pay would be taxed at the state tax rate that they are playing in. Example: play the magic in Orlando and you pay ZERO state tax..play a game in Sacramento you’d pay the California state tax rate. The math is complex but you misrepresented it as if it was super simple

Why do people pretend like what the Clippers did was so outer worldly? There isn’t a team in the league that would have done a thing differently. Getting the FMVP to paid with a guy who was 3rd in mvp voting and the role players are a Friday team that made it to the playoffs without a all star player. C’mon man. I don’t blame Steve or Jerry for that. Look what LA gave up for AD, Clippers didn’t make all that trade for PG, they made it to get Kawhi & PG.

The Media said the same thing to the Toronto Raptors after their 2018 season. They made a few adjustments then a 2019 championship.

Lol the Raptors had a young team and had insanely good depth it was only starpower holding them back exact opposite of the Clippers.

@@emilfrederiksen.1622 and I’m not disagreeing. All I’m saying is there are previous times they said blow it up and they didn’t and they won. It’s not all black and white.

I think 2018 raptors is better than this clippers, cus yeah they got destroyed by LeBron cavs without Kyrie but they finished as number 1 team in Eastern conference so that team is good team and only need few adjustments and need another player to step up like Fred van vleet

I went on vacation to LA in November 2019 and caught one of PG-13’s first games as a Clipper (I think Kawhi was injured at the time)… anyway I went to Staples Center and saw PG-13 set the Clippers single game record for most 3PM in a game. It’s been all downhill since for them it seems.

Clippers don’t want to give Paul George the max because he does rank in the playoffs. Sometimes he’s not a number one guy and we already have a number one in Kawai and we’re trying to keep James Harden too! It’s tough to swing it. 😂

Kawhi played every game in 2020's playoffs which was 13 games, 11 games of a possible 18 in 2021, 2 games of a possible 5 in 2023, and 2 games of a possible 6 in 2024. That's 28 playoff games out of the Clippers' 43 playoff games since the '19-'20 season. Where is this "4 of 19 since 2019" coming from? Some *really* bad math?

Bet. He still played 11 playoff games the following year before tearing his ACL. 7 against Dallas, 4 against Utah. 4/19 since 2019, how?

Regarding Westbrook's statement. The first part was defensive enough: sounds like Russ wrote that or dictated that to a writer. But the overall writing style doesn't sound like how he talks, nor what he talks about. Someone else wrote that statement, then Russ gave it his imprimatur.

I watched the Clippers interview about their future and listening to the speech I was sold that their widow is open and a championship is possible in that new arena next year. But I woke up this morning and was super hung over and realized I was far to intoxicated for any critical or fact based thought. Today I've learned I should never watch Clippers interviews because because I believe dumb statements with zero statements that are factual in any way. Lol
