point is: he got the money elsewhere and knew that he would get it. the clippers lost a star player. the notion that star players cant negotiate for perks like a non trade clause is ridiculous. any employee that is valuable for a company can put specifics in his contract. george ended up in a better situation - embiid, maxy, lowry and gordon are now on his team. by being a free agent he was able to go to a team that does not have to give up any pieces for him. people here are tripping if they blame him for doing what he did, they would 100% did the same in his situation - he has all the cards in his favour. they should have negotiated the contract when they had time to meet his demands not shortly before him becoming free agent. in my opinion failure of the management of the clippers.

So what ? Clippers have said to PG that he is an essential part of their future and they want him to retire there . Considering that he is a valuable scorer an had to carry a team because Kawhi was never there and a possibility that Kawhi will play in the next playoffs is low for two reasons . It's not a guarantee anymore that the clippers will get the playoffs , for that to happen Kawhi will need to play almost all of the games and also be more productive than before to fill the void of Paul George . And if he will do that , than comes the second reason , he probably will not be healthy for the playoffs and the whole team will basically be James Harden.
