I love how he says "oh where's my drill?" like it's the most natural thing in the world. Ahhh Paul's the man.

paul gilbert's video lessons never get old. his playing, lessons, and that great down to earth personality are the perfect combination. whenever i need help on guitar i go to no one other than the man himself.

Pickups don't amplify sound they react to magnetic fields. So they are actually reacting to the movement of the metallic parts within the drill casing, and the changing magnetic fields within that drill motor.

Damn, now I need to shell out $150 for the vintage reissue Paul Gilbert signature Makita Cordless that won't be anything like the one he uses or even the vintage drills. Awesome as always. Massively entertaining.

@Zorlak108 the pgm300 series that ibanez makes now come standard with a floyd rose licensed trem (bad idea imo), so he gets a large amount of them and has them filled and gets a standard trem on it. :D

What pickup do you have to have to being able to capture external noises (like the drill at the end of this solo for instance)?
@Guitarmattms201013 жыл бұрын
What type of drill does he? Are those just guitar picks taped to the bit? I heard him saying once you can still pick up these drills on eBay, I remember seeing his pedal board at the Mr. Big show and he had a battery charger for the drills with an extra battery. I thought it was kinda funny. .

Most guitar tutions are really slow and break things down , for paul breaking things down is still complex for alot of guitarists, he reminds of of Keane Reeves in Bill and Ted, I jsut happen to have my modified cordless drill lying around and my fingers set to ultra fast mode, when he slows it down its still faster than alot of licks but I'm sure it is learnible just i wouldn't try and attempt it yet,

If you look closely Paul's fingers are SO long that he can stretch from 12-24!!!!!!!!!!! on a 25.5 scale!!!!He doesnt in this tune but by merely pivoting his hand to be more perpendicular he could make it. I can barely make that on a 24 inch scale. I certainly couldn't make that musical though.
