“Action” may be the most important word in all of recovery. I can’t “think” my way anywhere!

The person is an idea, because its all based on mind conditioning, its very simple whats happened to all of us,we've been brainwashed into believing we are a person, its all memories, constantly reinforcing the person/ego idea by its surroundings. So whats left then? it can't be described because its outside of the minds capacity, all we can realise is there is something here, now, with no name, no form, but the conditioned person/ego doesn't like that at all, it doesn't want to die,but the joke is, it never existed anyway..........only as an idea, let it go and be free. .The person idea will still be there because its embedded in the brain cells but,it becomes a useful servant instead of a tyrannical master, things get worked out and put into practice, life goes on. Things still happen but nobody does them!

Thinking just happens my friend. "you" don't control your thinking. Remember what your earlier message was with the Lion:) Believing you control your thinking is re enforcing the thinking. Stay with the sense "I am"

I'm not an elephant. I'm not male. I don't understand what he's talking about but it feels like he's on to something that may be true. I just don't get it.

The true liberation is the true realization of oneself - that certainly is not realization of non-Brahman as Brahman. Not only the essential nature of lion is unaffected at all times, the essential nature of a donkey or a camel or a buffalo or a porcupine or a monkey or the dog or the sheep in the story is also unaffected at all times. That itself is a perfect Dvaita. In fact the entire story is drawn to differentiate the sheep from the lion and the lion from the sheep. If there are no sheep, there is no story. Thus the story is a story of Dvaita. There is no better story for Dvaita. While narrating the story, they have forgotten what is pAramArthika. The Brahman is supposed to be pAramArthika, not the lion. What is worse - in fact every sheep, lion, donkey, camel, buffalo, porcupine, monkey, dog and what not must realize that it is Brahman as Brahman alone is pAramArthika! That is absurd.

The little fable only make sense if you think awakening is different for each person. But the thing you awaken to is that we are not different. So what the hell. It also implies that awakening is impossible for most. The story would only make sense if the sheep were also lions, but in sheep clothing.

+Ukeridge The problem is that you assume your view (consisting of thoughts) about awakening makes any difference about it whatsoever. Does a sheep think its way into being a lion? Or does the lion realize it was never a sheep? In this fable you decide at first if you are a lion dreaming a sheep or you identify as a sheep trying to be a lion :) interesting, isn't it? No one told you that most people are sheep. That is your assumption. The moral of the story is that everyone is a lion who is just a little bit confused. After it recognizes, it is instantaneously able to roar. That is because the nature to roar has been with it the whole time.

"We're all the same" is just as much a con-cept based thought as "we're all different."

Finding out about what you’re not is an invitation to the endless path. It is a waste of time. We’re all experts on what we’re not and often spend lifetimes trying to figure it out and fix it. One quarter second of truly recognizing who you are puts and end to all the nonsense and puts people like you out of business. Wake up.
