I have had great success special ordering two piece bamboo fly rods from ZhusRods in China. The key for me is to specify the features and quality you want. For example, getting a split cane rod with no water spots or other blemishes, no glue lines, no open edges, no epoxy on the finish (only the best oil base spar), finest silk windings, polish fit NS ferrules, perfectly straight rod sections, liveliest action in the bamboo, down locking reel seat, wood spacer to match the bamboo color, etc. The fishers who criticize these rods are those who have never tried one or have not specified the desired features for Zhus to build. His special order rods are wonderful! I've fly fished for over 50 years and recognize quality fly rods and reels. Ron U.
