@lukasazdanovic64773 жыл бұрын
Tbh, the remixed version strips away so much feel and leaves it sounding too robotic. Im not one to neeed screams, but this takes away so much of that background ambience as well and loses all feel
@ThatDereKid3 жыл бұрын
@@lukasazdanovic6477 I disagree. Remix improved the album in every way and in my opinion is the best prog metal album ever. The screams were not well-done and the new mix is insanely crisp (I cannot believe the drums were not re-recorded).
@codytaylor78612 жыл бұрын
@@ThatDereKid couldn't agree more. The screams sound so flat and dehydrated next to all the lush sounds from the rest of the song. I much prefer the remixed album.

Lookin' like the Steve Jobs of Death Metal
@idontmind58152 жыл бұрын
It's not death metal, it's prog. metal. Uroboric Forms and Focus can be viewed as death metal but any release after that has become more and more progressive. Besides you don't have to look like a total jabroni to play metal. I play myself and when i started like 30+ years ago i had long hair, just like Paul did, but then i got older and i got this crazy idea of going to a hairdresser/barbershop for a cut. Wild, huh?

I have reallt been trying to figure out how he gets such vibrant chords with that level of saturation on his distortion. Anyone with any tips
@BJ.Cardoso4 жыл бұрын
What I do to simulate a cynic like tone is : put bass on 40,mids on 65,treble 80 and try to get a bright chorus effect going. I'm using a boss katana, not sure what amp you have do the biggest advice I have is use your ears.
@Natwonsalery4 жыл бұрын
Thanks i recently got a blueguitar amp1 iridium. I found myself alot closer to that tone with a good amp.
@BJ.Cardoso4 жыл бұрын
@@Natwonsalery also if you have a compressor I'd recommend using it and use an eq to boost the highs and lows
@Natwonsalery4 жыл бұрын
@@BJ.Cardoso yeah i need to get a compressor. I particularly found achieving their tone seems to go easier on an amp that voices closer to like an old style marshall than the newer mordern distortion sound. The old style really gives clarity with chords

@positivegrid6 жыл бұрын
Actually, you can hear when the guitar track is soloed - he's not miming. When we do these artist videos, we usually get the stems from the record and replace the guitars with the ones shot onset. Your perception is understandable, because the bass and drums are from the record, but that's not the case. Hope that helps
