She was a very, very bright woman, but she always struck me as a woman who lived her life exactly as she wanted to live it and wouldn't have wanted a lot of wringing of hands and sadness. She lived her final days doing things she loved the most with people, especially Paul, who she loved most. I doubt she ever gave up hope, but she was a realist.

I love this song. He was always my favorite. He seemed to be the most romantic one.. I am so glad that him & Linda loved each other & they had a good strong marriage., & raised 4 kids with good hearts.. I like to think he wrote that song for her. After 40 years of marriage my spouse passed away 7 years ago so I understand his loss. A part of him died with her & she took that part with her. What he is 78 now, I wish him a long life. One day they will be together again & be so very young.

When watching the making of Flaming Pie, this made me rather emotional. To see Paul singing a song so endearing to a women he deeply loved, starting to grow old with her, only for her to still be taken too soon; it resonates so much more in retrospect. The whole scene with the campfire is very comforting but still carries such melancholic weight with Linda’s passing.

McCartney is a strong man who’s faced adversity and kept a stiff upper lip in public. Not in private. He lost the first most important woman in his life, his mother, when he was 14, to breast cancer also. He was devastated when The BeaTles broke up. He lost Lennon, another very significant person in his life. Then he lost the most important woman and person of his entire life who was his wife, his lover, the mother of his children, his soulmate. She’s the one who was by his side, encouraged, pushed him and brought him out of his depression after The BeaTles’ split. And then, just like his mom, he lost her to breast cancer. I love this video, it shows how much they meant to each other; we see the love and the pain of leaving her husband in Linda’s eyes & we see McCartney alone in the woods, needing solitude to deal with his emotions, by Linda’s side, serenading her with all of his love for her. We see him standing outside Buckingham Palace after being Knighted, standing there like a little school boy, alone, because Linda was too sick to attend and be by his side. Yeah, McCartney’s been accused over the years of being aloof, cold, stingy and a few other unpleasant traits, but, this is a man who has always guarded his private life as a shield for his family and himself, in order to be able to deal privately and internally with the major setbacks he’s lived, as we all do but, he’s one of the biggest public figures ever. So he’s always scrutinized by millions of people, we’re not. That’s why he is the way he is and he doesn’t suffer fools gladly. A great artist & a good man.

I love this song. I also loved this video. Seeing Paul McCartney doing something out of what we would call normal for a celebrity. Is, so cool. He, and Linda ❤️ will stand the test of time. I know she’s passed away, but it shows us all that true live does exist. Also, that it is rare, and takes a lot of work, and in the end your ❤️ has to be the enduring force that outweighs the 💩 that life throws at us. I've come to this after watching Paul's Ram-era videos for "Heart of the Country" and "3 Legs". That was the beginning of Paul and Linda's story - and this song is almost the end. It's absolutely heartbreaking and I'm just a fan, so I can't imagine how much it tears Paul up to see these old clips. Very few people ever experience a love like that.
