I was in the Wizard of Oz with Paul in 8th grade( 1974.) at St. Bede’s in Holland, PA. I played Galinda, Paul was the Cowardly Lion and stole the show. He roar and singing of “If I were King of the Forest” were so memorable. Hi Paul!

I feel like Paul McCrane doesn't receive enough recognition. His songs in the Fame movie: 'It is okay if I call you mine' and 'Miles from home' are highly underrated and his performance in ER should've received an Emmy.

Paul I remember in Melbourne Australia my friend and I went to see Richard Here in American Gigalo on a sat night and we were surprised to find it also was showing Fame and we were a sample audience that night, OMG the audience went mad for FAME, and to this day it is still my equal best film ever to another musical, I still watch it a lot and listen to the sound track all the time . Thank you for giving us such joy .

It's a shame several critics of McCrane's character have approached him only to negate his portrayal as Montgomery. It was 1980, and Fame didn't have or needed an agenda other than adolescents trying to carve their way in the arts. I was 16 when Fame was in theaters, and I was comforted simply knowing of the struggles of another gay teen.

Just watched the Blu-ray of Fame this weekend ... wow 40+ years! But seeing it in HD for the first time (instead of all the times I saw it on cable as a kid, on some small 4:3 tube tv)... amazing. And of course instantly also made me want to go watch Robocop again ha ha...
