Paul O'Grady has been carried through his home village as hundreds of people lined the streets and dogs from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home formed a guard of honour before he was laid to rest.
O'Grady, who rose to fame as his platinum wig-wearing drag queen alter ego Lily Savage before going on to host a string of television programmes, died "unexpectedly but peacefully" at his home on March 28 at the age of 67.
At his funeral on Thursday, the life of the late comedian was celebrated as villagers and their pets packed pavements in Aldington, Kent, before a private service at a nearby church.
