My wife wanted to send a condolence card to Andre and Sharon his daughter and she addressed the envelope For Paul O'Grady, c/. Andre somewhere in Kent! And Andre did get the card and we had a Lovely card back from Andre, which we treasure. Thank You to the post office for being detectives and Andre, for taking the time to write to all his fans. Paul used to cheer me up at 5pm when I came home from work, and The Paul O'Grady Show would start on Channel 4. Always something to look forward to, after a day in the office and when that show ended I missed it a lot. Loved Paul, and will always miss him on TV and radio.

Paul often spoke of his mortality in a matter of fact way. He referred to his dicky ticker often saying he could go at any moment. He didn’t seem sentimental and I also agree, he didn’t realise how much he was loved. Massive loss to a lot of us.

I have suffered terribly with depression and self esteem issues most of my adult life .. there were times my mental health was at an all time low - particullarly during the time when Paul had his tea time show on Channel 4 ... I cannot thank this beautiful kind man enough for the smiles and laughter he gave me during some of the most darkest times in my life , even if it was just for an hour - it was like spending time with an dear friend - there was no pretense or ego - just a lovely kind genuine human being My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Andre as he continues to navigate the road ahead .
