You're only wrong if you let it be wrong. From what I've gathered, Victor is a master at taking a mistaking and using it as a pivot

No such thing as a wrong not in Vic's book. All his lessons seem to share this similar concept. The guy is an incredible visionary of the instrument.

Groove over notes! Why is it always that it takes mastery to learn the most important thing. Here I' ve got the most shocking news for you. Keith Richards is one of the best examples: he hardly never plays out of groove even if he misses out on the harmonies. I have noticed this one time when listening to some of the Stones stuff.

it all sounds groovy to me but 2:48 especially is not in the groove?

Yes. Paul plays rhythm and then swaps lead from Victor. But he finally gets into the pocket when they switched.

You do know that is exactly when Wooten starts playing the groove and the white guy starts soloing, right?

lol! To say that about St. Paul Peterson or Vic is funny. It's like saying, "there is a rule about bass playing and pics are not allowed. Not even for a different tone or sound"!
@GDT112410 жыл бұрын
Rubens de Mello Somebody with some sense. It's like saying, "Wait, why is that guitarist using his fingers to play? Where is his pic?"
@funknowledgy10 жыл бұрын
I've seen VW many times over the years and not once has he ever used a pic. Just saying.
@GDT112410 жыл бұрын
Very astute observation. I'm sure that Victor Wooten is the end all, be all of bassists and that no other style and techniques, other than the ones that he applies to bass, should ever be used.
