I had a Pioneer QX949 receiver and was amazed of it's weight.I purchased it in our NAAFI (British Army shops),I wanted to buy a pair of Bose 901's speakers but funds did not allow for them.

Looks like a beauty! I, too, am the proud owner if a QX 949A. Had it totally rebuilt a few years ago(around $800.00)but I wanted *everything* to work properly; everything! And-as far as I know-it does. We're you ever able to diagnose/fix the green scope light issue on that one channel?

Cliff Perkins, did you send yours ‘Out’ for repair, or do it yourself? I have owned a beautiful 949A for years, it’s time to either service or say goodbye to it. Looking at options of service cost, ship to who/where? Etc. I’m in Seattle.
