I remember seeing him on a late night show discussing this movie. He told a story about how he went to see it with his mother and when Burke died she cheered.

Agreed. Reiser plays Burke really well, making him not just some throwaway "evil villain", but the personification of the selfishness and corporate fascism that marks the Alien universe. He's not a bad guy who wants to hurt people; he's just a selfish prick who doesn't really care what happens to others as long as he gets paid. We see that "banality of evil" in varying degrees every day of our lives, and we must guard against it.

If any of your Aliens fans are interested, take a look at a short story called "Dark Mother" by David Farland. It's all about Burke, his childhood, and ultimate fate. It can be found in the Aliens Anthology novel called "Bug Hunt" and there's even a page on it in Xenopedia.

Paul Reiser's performance as Burke, the greedy and ethically challenged human in Aliens was excellent. He is the only guy I did not feel bad for being bagged by an Alien! That said, the cut out scene from Aliens where Ripley finds him impregnated with a face hunger as she is searching for Newt would have exonerated his character partly: In the end he would have experienced the horror that he was willing to unleash on humanity. In his last cowardly/human action he chose to kill himself.

a bad character is as important as the heroe one. this person does an explendid work as carter burk, cause you really hate him and wants he dies in the movie. make that you feel that about him, makes that this actor deserves the applause!. aliens is not only good by their incredible history, script, or special effects, make up... is also a very good movie due to the quality of the actors who play it. pretty clear the best alien movie of all... ;) and the raison because my user name on youtube is cabo (corporal in english) hicks.

Sssss o softly bubbly squary mannerism , I could come close to emulating , well the craze of alternative pursuits lays lost. Somewhere in Manero type like spce of twitching entheusists . The legends of the fiel o focal planes that we can refresh in subatomic beginnings of close accurate magnesis. He wasn't sleazy for me in sensy Reisy tivity. Ist reisen semi light dirave random guess Schetts or Boston withought refreshing. Well to the coils again and bean air interceptor mirrored vanes. Erm the blue subspike of science friction to flute to releive the mass particle light breaking fields and relative mass forces on velocity and stuff to understand. Hudson sure had the Baddest ass yeah like a gyrocompass on the eye lenses. maybe a long dark autumnal drip and dip . Adaptable story erm so your a new player in the complex then , if your good and do well you can use the rifle. Wonder what the inspiration was really.
