Paul's Restaurant-Cherokee, NC (Review)

This was our 3rd time eating at Paul's Restaurant, on the Cherokee Indian Reservation, in Cherokee, NC. This review outlines both what was good, and what was not.

I think I would just leave after seeing the restroom and the lack of attention before that. I have heard bad reviews about this place before. Hopefully they will get better.

Yeah, the bathroom thing was surprising. We had eaten there years previous, and enjoyed the buffalo burgers. And we had already talked about wanting to do a review on it, since Cherokee has so few dining options.

We’ve tried Paul’s a few different times and wait times for the food was really long and staff were rude. Try Peter’s pancakes on opposite side off the road for good food and friendly staff👍

Peters pancakes has always been super busy! Yes I hear it’s great. Never went cause I don’t like waiting. Lol

Spot On -- from a local -- the poor quality has always been just on the line of substandard for years. I always wonder when I drive by (couple of times a week) why they keep such a good customer base. Thanks for the honest review. -- Derrick is right -- not much to choose from in Cherokee. B-fast -- Peter's Pancakes -- Lunch and Supper -- Wize Guys is good food (pricey) -- and both the Asian and Mexican eateries beside Food Lion grocery store will not disappoint. -- All fast food places are hit/n/miss -- except Subway in old downtown -- Take a sandwich for a picnic at Island Park or the GSMNP if the weather permits --

My wife and I ate there recently. We weren’t impressed. Of course as you said in Cherokee there’s not a lot to choose from.

Yeah, we've liked it better in years past, than this time. It just wasn't anything impressive.

Tell it the way it is. We ate up there 2 years ago and I was not impressed and you’re right not many options in Cherokee

We honestly hate to give a negative review for any place, and we try to outline any positives, as well. But there are really some things this time here, that needed attention.

Derrick, perhaps you're being a bit optimistic thinking the restroom was merely unstocked from the previous day? I enjoy your honest reviews. You "calls 'em as you sees them". @johnpinckney4979 I have to try to give other alternatives, rather than just making assumptions, if I don't know them to be true. Whatever the case, the restaurant should have been ready to go as well as the restrooms, since the girls were just sitting around inside.

We sat where they seated us. What about it? There was hardly anyone there. Of your few comments here, most of them are telling me what "I need" to do. Not sure how you rose to that position, but you're yet to make a nice comment. Maybe "you need" to be more polite. If you think you're going to hang around here and just make critical comments, you are very much mistaken.

Being a Christian also, makes you wonder if that place wasn't SAUL'S before it became PAUL'S and didn't make a change for the better like PAUL did on the Demascus road,lol?

Yeah, and the staff they had, was just sitting around. But yeah, that's probably what they would have told me, had I asked why the bathrooms were dirty.

They have awful reviews. We ate there a long time ago and it was no different. Our experience was much worse. We complained about our food because it was not good at all and cold. We wanted them to take it back and we wanted to leave. They called the cops on us for not wanting to pay the bill. For what? The food came. It was cold. We said take it back. We don't want it. Never ever will I go back.

Wow, it sounds like your experience was very bad, as well. While our food wasn't terrible, the overall service of the place just wasn't good. Our waitress did an okay job taking care of us, but there's just no excuse for a filthy bathroom. Especially when they opened almost an hour later than they were supposed to.

You repeating yourself isn’t too good either. Know that they are more relaxed and the chef’s won’t be perfect. I’m going tomorrow and understand where I’m going. Either way, this video ain’t perfect. Nor organized either. When people point fingers.

As for the video not being perfect, nobody said it was. We were just starting KZbin then, and this was a terrible camera that we had just gotten, and ultimately returned, due to the terrible sound quality. As for pointing fingers, that comment is absurd. As someone who reviews places, our reviews are always honest, and describe exactly what happened. No fingers were pointed. The truth of our experience was told. It is as simple as that. When a restaurant opens late and you see the staff just sitting around inside doing nothing prior to that, it is not unreasonable to expect the bathrooms to be clean, fully stocked, and no cobwebs in front of the door. I'm pretty sure you would not have liked finding it like that, either. You can go if you want to. We never said you couldn't, or shouldn't. But that isn't going to stop us from telling our experiences exactly as they happened. And we find it strange, that you would object to that. Would you rather us not be truthful? If you have watched our videos at all, you know that most of our reviews are positive, but that we will not hold back from speaking the truth. It seems a little strange to us, that you would take the time out of your day to write a comment and criticize us for giving you an honest review. I would think you would appreciate that, knowing that you're still free to go and try it out for yourself. I would also suggest that you maybe read the comments other than yours. Even some of the locals who live near it, agree with what we said. So, we weren't very far off base at all. We hope you have an enjoyable experience there. In fact, come back on here and reply, and let us know how it was. Nothing would make us happier, than to know the restaurant is now running in an efficient manner. But quite honestly, this comment of yours is just strange, to say the least.
