You can clearly hear the pneumatic starter engage over the sound of the running APU, followed by the most pleasing sound of the 593 spooling up. When the APU is shut down (Start hose goes slack), it's all 100% Olympus. Check out the pallets in the far background from the jet efflux of the engine.

It's great to see your 593 running. I've commented in the past that, for several years, I was a member of the engineering team at R-R Bristol, which kept the Concorde engines turning and burning

Last run was to 70% RPM, just above idle :-)

Not a good idea, but you could probably run the engine at max RPM as long as neither of the spools exceeded their designed speed limits. Of course without the propelling nozzles you wouldn't get the thrust recommended for flight as the spools would be mismatched. With engines of this size, its best to treat them with respect, that way you might get to see another day.

Thank you. It took 9 years to get it to running state, a few wheel barrow's full of cash and a ton of effort. Not to mention being a potential divorce maker ! :) Rpm was taken up to 70% max for a few seconds and then down to 65% which is idle.
