By coincidence I just watched the _Late Night_ 2004 clip in which Chuck Norris shows up in response to the Walker Texas Ranger lever and Bill Maher is announced as the next guest after the commercial break. I couldn't find that interview or any other examples of Maher with Conan though.

For those who might be interested - the word "sanguine" is indeed derived from the Latin word for blood ("sanguis"), but it has a positive connotation because it is in reference to blood as one of the four humors. Blood was associated with stuff like passion, love, and good cheer, so to be sanguine was to be especially vivacious in general. The other humors, just fyi, were phlegm (associated with reserve and apathy, "phlegmatic"), black bile (associated with sadness, "melancholic"), and yellow bile (associated with agitation and anger, "choleric").

A kid old enough to tie his own shoes is old enough to read signs, recognize pictures of ghosts, and hear his patents talking about ghosts the whole time, and either consciously play along or subconsciously thier imagination takes over. My neice did a similar thing when we visited Charleston. It's odd to me how much people infantilize grade school aged children who can read and hold a conversation.

I want a horror movie version of polar Express where it's a kid who goes on a journey of self discovery and the loss of innocence with ghosts in New Orleans. I've gotta say, their memories of the dialogue of Look Whose Talking is pretty inaccurate. They don't think like adults at all in the films. The babies often moved their mouths when the voice actors spoke. No implied telepathy. Babies want milk, breasts have milk. Mikey wanted lunch. That's about as far as it went. Everything else they've invented themselves. sorry, they used to show the first 2 movies about 50 times a day when I was 9 on HBO free preview weekends.
