AutoFocus says that John Carpenter was the killer (which is probably true!) though Bob Crane's ex wife Patty was also a suspect (though police never pursued her even though they checked out her whereabouts during the murder of course).

Bob was a jerk he might have got what he deserved 😢? I don't think John killed Bob .
