I think it's that most people are agreeable just to get along and get through the day without having conflicts with people. Especially with how much conflict exists on social media and the tole that the pandemic took on mental health, I think it's a lot of people have become more passive and less acutely aware of ourselves in the context of social situations where people may be unconsciously want to make fools of others. The most aggressive and intimidating professional conflicts I've ever seen or overheard in life were while working in the film and television industry. In light of that I think Paul matured to have a thick skin and really maintain the capacity to express his vision and artistic insights regardless of how people around him may be oppositional but also may be agreeable and validating yet manipulating to assert the dominance of their personality. It's like how he described leaving a coke party with Mick Jagger, Penny Marshall and Lorne Michaels "If you can walk out of that room you can walk out of any room" which is fascinating, because if you remove cocaine from the equation then it all comes down to egos and having self awareness and fortitude to know when your ego is at risk of being damaged from not just the way others can drain you, but how people can co-enable each other to drain and burn ourselves out. Or something like that.

I love every episode of the talk show, you just have to release them more consistenly fellas. Adam is the best talk show interviewer.

The scene with God's chosen man in the back of the cab bugging out over the meter was extremely subtle. Would go over the average Mulldog fan's head. Classic Adam, stay taking wins.

this is top to bottom the best episode yet. the interview is beautiful, adam is funny and the intro is extremely good, a metaphor for the show itself. outro funny also.
