I just happened upon this video looking for live versions of "I know what i know" and decided to hit play when i read that you were using a looper. You nailed it man, being an ex guitarist myself, i really appreciate your cover. Well done. One of my favorite songs of all time too.

hey Billbo, thanks for listening... i'm just playing G to C, both barred at the 3rd fret (E-form to A-form barre shapes). the simple noted bass line type progression i looped first is G, Octave, D twice - then C, Octave, G twice. mostly everything is happening on the 3rd and 5th fret. hope that makes sense.

I always loved this song too, and when I first got my loop pedal one of the first things I played was this simplified arrangement. I think it was the first time I ever tried a 'drum' beat too. Paul Simon is an American -frickin'- Treasure.... Thanks for the comment and compliment.

Hey man, I found this via youtube's recommendations, I love paul simon and I do loop pedal videos as well (with the same pedal). Crazy how youtube can put two and two together. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words Chris - I hope you have been rocking that Jamman pedal. How come no vids of you playing on your channel?

@kamali42388 i appreciate the real, constructive feedback - i'm steady learning, and working out the tones. even when i made this vid, 3 years ago, i was aware that they were sketchy - i'm playing through an old mixer, through 1 12" speaker, recorded directly to a point and shoot video camera - now i have a much better rig, and a usb device for multitracking. thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.

sure wish you would have left the chord progressions for me to learn, I should have written them my bad. Love your music Jason.

Thanks, man! The progression I’m playing is just G and C, but I loop a bass line which is just G, the octave of G, D (twice) then C, the octave of C, G (twice). Enjoy!

hey, i don't recall ever having that problem with the pedal - i rarely add more than 3, maybe 4 loops at a time though. and this pedal is the 20XL, i don't know much about it's predecessor but it's possible if you had an earlier version BOSS may have addressed the issue.

yeah man - the loop pedal is definitely sweet, and that RC-2 looks great. it would be nice to have the extra space back in my pedal board. thanks for the kind words and keep turning out the videos yourself Coffee - good jams and tasty selections.

I am playing an Ibanez AW Acoustic and I put an LR Baggs I-Beam pickup in it. Thanks for the compliments bazooka.

ya - the RC-2 is smaller (just single pedal size) and it is my understanding that all it lacks is the microphone input found on the RC-20. I don't really use the mic input (i have buddies who loop their vocals or percussion like shakers, etc... into a microphone)... so if I was in the market for a new one I would probably go with the RC-2. But if you think you might want or need the mic, check out the Rc-20. hope that helps Forest.

Care to share the cord progression you are using? It's simply fantastic.

Yes you can use them at the same time forest, and they have separate volume controls. I have found the best way to do that is to get a microphone or mic cable with an on/off switch so you can get the volumes balanced and then just turn the mic on or off when you want it to be part of the loop...

Very nice ! I've used an RC20 before and have always had trouble with the tempo speeding up as more loops are added. Have you ever had that type of problem ?
@JasonMontero11 жыл бұрын
Right on Jerr, thanks for the positive words. play every day man. sometimes you get better very fast, like a growth spurt - it's not always just slow steady improvement; you'll be going along feeling stale and then BAM and you think, 'wow, i suck at a whole new level.' lol.

Try running all of your instruments through a little powered mixer before the loop station (Mic and guitar at least, but depending on how many channels you have on the mixer, you could go buck wild!). You should be able to get better fidelity on your loops (especially the percussion stuff), so that your loops sound identical to your live guitar playing. Then you can loop your vocals too...harmonies, beatboxing, whatever... Keep it up dude, good stuff.
