In the 90s I went to see Jim Mullen play at the Regent Palace Hotel with Laurence Cottle and Ian Thomas.Jim is a National Treasure..a very fluid unique Jazz guitarist.I spoke with him in the bar after the gig and asked him if any interesting young guitarists were coming through. He replied..”yes...someone called Paul Stacey”.....did Paul live up to this promising recommendation?

I heard a Paul Stacey track about 25-30 years ago. On a compilation with other players such as Tony MacAlpine . It was brilliant. Wish I knew what it was. Looked for it but can’t find it. Anyway.... fantastic playing Paul !!!

@@mrssauce late reply but 😂… I think it maybe a 9 track CD called “Six String Sampler” released in 1990? I’ve got it in front of me and it’s got tracks by Paul Stacey, Malcolm McFarlane, Steve Topping & Jim Mullen. Great drummers such as Jeremy Stacey, Gary Husband & Neil Wilkinson along with bassists Laurence Cottle & Trevor Barry.
