Paul Stanley is an amazing man. Very mindful, very accomplished, and most importantly, a very, very, *very* good soul. He's always been my role model and will continue to be until the day I die. Love to Paul Stanley, his family, and the KISS family!

having been a kiss fan since the mid 70's (my first concert in san antonio texas, complete with rush opening up for them), I thought I'd give out my memory of meeting paul one afternoon in new york city in 1987. I stopped in a bar just up the street from my apartment on 102nd one afternoon, and plopped down next to some random long haired (yes, I had rock star hair my whole life) guy having a drink himself. we started up a random conversation about music, genre's we liked, concerts we'd enjoyed, life in general, etc... a fun afternoon while I was waiting on a meetup with some friends later that afternoon. anyway, we parted with a hand shake, smiles and thank you's as he stood up and walked out the door to a limousine. the bartender asked me if I knew the guy who just left, of which I told him I had no idea who he was. when he told me it was paul stanley, I about shit myself. I'd just spent over 30 minutes talking with my childhood idol, and never had a clue, just enjoyed the afternoon conversation with someone, only for the fun of the conversation. back when things like that could happen.......

When the four members of KISS put out solo albums in 1978, Peter Criss put out an album with all original songs that were soulful and good in their own right, but everyone dissed it because it wasn’t rock and roll. Now Paul comes out with this kind of music, unoriginal, and everyone thinks it’s the greatest thing ever. Perhaps it’s all a matter of timing but Peter did this way before Paul did.
@jack5402
@jack5402 3 жыл бұрын
Part of the reason Peter's solo album wasn't well received was because it was still under the KISS banner but it was further away from the band's sound. I wouldn't compare that to Soul Station at all. This is a completely different animal covering classic songs from a different genre and era. Also, Peter's weren't all original as you stated. I like Peter's solo, but it doesn't satisfy my KISS craving as much as Paul's and Ace's do.
@wickedcurve
@wickedcurve 3 жыл бұрын
@@jack5402 oh, and I agree. Loved Ace’s and Paul’s solo KISS LP. In fact, Paul’s was the first I bought out of the four back in 1978. I can remember buying it, bringing it home, removing the plastic, sliding the album out of the sleeve, placing it on my turntable, dropping the needle, and hearing the first few chords of “Tonight You Belong To Me”...it was MAGIC! Ace’s was superb! There was a lot of mystery surrounding his because up until that time he had one lead vocal on “Shock Me”, so no one knew what it would be like. In the end, it blew everyone away! I appreciate Gene’s more now than I did then. I can listen to it from beginning to end easily. Peter’s was unique and quite different from the rest. I wasn’t fond of it at all then but listening to it now I enjoy it for what it is.

I came here for some music talk but instead got an earful of liberal propaganda about the importance of vaccinations for a virus with a survivability rate of over 98%. The harder they try to push this agenda the more skeptical people become. Keep up the great work Paul! Your doing humanity a great service!
@lauriedee7862
@lauriedee7862 3 жыл бұрын
Covid should never have been politicized, for it's a global health issue. Okay, it has a 98 percent survival rate, but over 600 million Americans have died from it. Moreover, many have lost their homes, jobs, health insurance and couldn't even visit loved ones who were gravely ill with this virus. It's not propaganda. It's true. I cannot force you to get vaccinated or change your opinion, but for yourself and the sake of others, please be safe.
@brunohale
@brunohale 3 жыл бұрын
@@lauriedee7862 On the contrary, 600 million Americans did not die from covid. People who died of influenza, hard attack, stroke, emphysema, pneumonia, old age, car accidents, etc. were counted as covid deaths because they tested positive at some point. Doctors who labeled these deaths as covid cases were literally payed thousands of dollars, per incident. Do you really believe it's just a coincidence that the standard, annual death rate for nearly every other disease plummeted at the exact same time covid hit? So, either covid miraculously cured the world of dozens of illnesses or it's a planned pandemic with a carefully crafted agenda behind it. If folks like yourself are still unable or unwilling to see what's really going on then you have my sympathy. Stay safe.
