A very very good and fine composer. No Kiss without Paul. That's for sure. He is the face or the heart of Kiss. Come on... Listen to the guitar sound of Ace. His special unique style of playing.mostly pure feeling. No technique shredding wizard.and og course his solos are top notch. And the songs he contributed to kiss and of course his 78 solo Album are all classics.a very relaxed voice. He plays with orc through the heart. He is the Keith Richard's of heavy rock. Ace is an original. Pure. Unique.Gene was the Brain. By the way. Paul's songs are excellent too. Mostly master class. If Paul, Gene or both retire in the near future.... That's the end of Kiss.

Paul's vocal decline started during the recording of his solo Live to Win album in 2006 (he sounded amazing up until July 2006 when Kiss performed in Japan) and got worse on his 28-date solo Live To Win tour which ran from October to November 2006 and resumed during April 2007. When he returned to singing live with Kiss in July 2007 (a year after his last great performance) it was a broken Paul Stanley and things just kept getting worse from then until July 2018 (the last time he actually sung live with Kiss). He finally gave in and started miming to a played tape in September 2018 when performing live with Kiss, and has been doing so ever since. So yes, it was a painful 12 year decline starting from October 2006 until September 2018.

you can see the sadness in pauls eyes as he sings this.he and joey were lovers and this is actually there break up song. that's why this heart felt rendition is so convicing.paul was quoted later saying he never truly got over joey as he was unfaithfull in their relationship and paul could never trust him again.

I have always Loved KISS , from the Alive 2 album all the way through it all ! Saw them in Birmingham at the creatures of the night tour ! Vinnie vincent lead guitar even though ACE FREHLEY had his face on the album cover ! Best part was ERIC CARR the FOX was the drummer ! At least i got to see and hear eric play , rip eric carr 🦊, Shandi is 1 song that sounds so beautiful ❤I i love the drum intro to it ! Yes Paul's voice has declined and its noticable , BUT , Look what this man has put himself through for all these years !! Mr paul Stanley may you always be blessed !

I think it sounds more like a mellow early '70s AM radio song, and AM was just about done in 1980. What did still exist was playing new wave hits. On the other hand, Christopher Cross had 1980 hits before MTV artists stopped his career a year later.

It was Top 5 in Australia when it came out. Don’t hear it much anymore though. But radio don’t play a lot of KISS. Just Rock and Roll all Nite, and I Was Made For Loving You. Sad really. They write a lot of positivity in their lyrics. Great music, no swearing, not vulgar. Paul and Gene are seriously underrated song writers.
