They are not being paid or sponsored by Gibson. I am not seeing Mark call the guests and say: "We would like to come to your studio, film your guitar collection, but non-Gibson guitars allowed" That would be ridiculous and Gibson couldn't make this show

My first concert ever was Kiss at the Spectrum in Philly, in 1979. Priest opened. My mother bought the tickets and asked our apartment maintenance man to take me because he was in a band and was teaching me how to play guitar. He took me to the show on his Triumph chopper. I remember how mesmerized I was by the broken mirror Ibanez and its reflection bouncing around on the back walls. I swear that I watched that reflection more than I watched the show. It's a day I'll never forget.

@cqwickedwake7651 Kiss is famously kinda messy behind the scenes. The relationship's between the remaining members and the former members are... shall we say, frought. Plus the whole band has always been very business minded. That said, yeah, they always put on a great show no matter what!

I met the band, starting with Paul, during the Kiss Alive 3 tour/promotion campaigns. They were sitting in the sun behind a mall outside of Buffalo, NY when the cd came out. I had just broken my back and was in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the waist down at 17 years old. I get there, the line wraps around the mall almost 3 times! I see that and I knew in my condition that I couldn't sit in the sun that long so I decided to leave. One of the guys that worked for the band saw me leaving and asked if I'd gotten my stuff signed. I told him what happened. He said "c'mon with me" and took me right to the front of the line. This was just before they were starting to sign. So, Paul was at the right-hand of the table, in the 1st position to where the line was and i go to him, grab the pile of stuff i had and right away the security guard behind him pushes the stuff back my way and says "pick ONE thing!!" Paul, grabs his arm and says "leave him alone, it's ok!" and signs EVERYTHING in his perfect signature and spoke with me a little abt why I was in the chair. Then he pushed everything to Gene who also signed everything. The other 2 guys only signed the new cd bc everything else was from the 70s. Paul and that original security guy treated me like Kiss Family. I may have lost insterest in the band bc of Gene's neverending greed but Paul will always be remembered by me for that day.

Please get Angus. Angus Young and Tony Iommi are why I play an SG. As a teenager, I could never afford an SG. In 1996 I joined the Marine Corps and within the first few weeks after being sent to my duty station in KBay Hawaii I used my untouched money from boot camp and School of Infantry to finally buy an SG. I still own the same guitar and play it to this day in my band. Please, get Angus on here.

Paul in his peak was unmatched, one of the greatest rock front men and guitarists. Add to that songwriter, artist and producer. It's funny I never associate Paul with Gibson Guitars even though he used them in the 70's, in Kiss the fans saw Ace Frehley playing the Les Pauls and maybe the most iconic was his Black Beauty. Ace had a huge influence on so many people to buy a Gibson Guitar even to this day. As we all know the Ace Frehley Custom Gibsons have proven to be the best investments. Ace has had so much of an influence on so many bands in the 80's 90's 2000's. I loved seeing that Ibanez prototype & mirror, to me that's the Paul Stanley style guitar. Pauls double neck Sunburst is a special guitar for the hardcore 70 Kiss fans if you know Hard Luck Woman
@christianhebditch
@christianhebditch 6 ай бұрын
Actually Ace’s most iconic was the Cherry Sunburst,as Ace said because at that time Kiss had exploded. It’s a 73 Custom which he still owns! Unfortunately he pawned his original 1959! Another was his 1973 Deluxe Tobacco Burst Deluxe 2 pickup later a 3 pickup! If you watch them live at the Summit in 78 you see both in use 77-80 was their peak.

To my relief the band crew & manager were phenomenal. Fed us took care of our gear had our own dressing room. Pauls late guitar tech introduced us on stage. It inspired me to start playing when I was 12 years old. I grew up always playing but became a cop. Haha. I still play in a band with a bunch of cops and I owe a lot of the desire to play guitar to Kiss and their mystique. Great interview by the way. I've been rolling my eyes at Paul's onstage persona, banter, and voice for years, but he can be a cool, intellectual, classy individual. Awesome collection. That was fun. I kept hoping though he'd let us hear some of his guitars.

Absolutely my favorite so far… not for the guitars as much as his outlook and attitude toward playing and the instruments. A real reverence and sensibility I can really vibe with. Super cool! Thanks for doing this to Paul, Mark, and the whole Gibson crew that makes it happen. Must be a real pain to edit out to get it digestible. I’m sure there’s loads more we’d love to see that was shot.

I met Paul when I was a kid, shopping for my first real guitar at Brian Guitars, in New Haven, CT. My guitar teacher also worked there. This was in '77 or '78. I went home with a brand new '78 Gibson Les Paul Custom, black with gold hardware. Paul is one of my favs; writing, performing, playing, frontman, etc. I own several Ibanez PS guitars; my fav hardtail HH guitars.

RUSH is my favorite band, although, when I was 15, the KISS phase hit me as an earlier fav. I saw them during the Love Gun tour in '77 at the SF Cow Palace. Then two decades later, for the heck of it, I saw them in San Jose during their first reunion tour. At one point, when they elevate over the crowd on the platforms, and with Ace and Paul way up high and directly over my 5th row seat, Paul's sweat drenched my arm when he did a Townsend arm whirl (cool, but also yuk), and then Ace threw his pick out, which dropped right at my feet. The guys in front of me scrambled like crazy searching for it, while I simply bent down and picked it up. It was awesome! Rock on!

I was impressed by the fantastic collection of guitars 🎸 and acoustic guitars from our beloved Rock Star Paul Stanley. It is a beautiful collection and deserves a prominent place and to be played always, even if just to family and friends. It's really beautiful to see the affection that Paul Stanley ❤️ has for his guitars and the stories behind each one of them. Rose, for example, is beautiful! Just like the one with the double neck like Jimmy Page's.❤❤❤❤😍👏👏👏👀👍😉🎶😎✌️

Wow! What a fanastic episode this was. At the beginning, I was wondering if the PS10 would come around, and thought, no, this is Gibson tv so they won't . But hats of to you, you did show it. What a wonderful, unbiased episode, in terms of showing non Gibson guitars, so, hats off to you! And btw, what a nice selections of Gibsons Paul has: that 59 that he said had a refinished top, looked absolutely spectacular! And so did the 1994 LP's!! And what about his relic jobs on the cases!! Wow!! And the accoustics, just wonderfull!! I wonder if Mark picked up anything that he thought wow!!! as well, and maybe we will see this as a reissue one day as well? Thank you GTV for making this episode and for Mark asking all the right questions, and a big thank you to Paul for giving us an inside view to your vault and your wonderful instruments!!! Was it too much to ask to have PS play some of them rather than just talk about them? Sorry, just wishful thinking..
