In 2008, I visited my uncle while he was living in downtown LA. One day during the visit, he took me to K1 go karting out in Anaheim. On the way there, I saw a black F250 with limo tinted windows trailering a Bayside blue metallic R34 GT-R through an intersection. I like to think that that was Paul Walker driving his Skyline to some location. I'll never forget the episode of TMZ where the paparazzi caught Paul Walker on the street and they asked what his favorite car was. As soon as he mentioned "S15, R34, SR20, etc" I knew he was one of us. I also found it kind of odd that he had so many different types of Mustangs in his car collection. I didn't expect to see that lol.

You’ve said it best, Mr. Lieberman, to be a true car enthusiast of real grit and character, one might be into a 69 Charger, or a 99 R-34, or a GT3 Porsche or M3 BMW, hot rod or late model domestic, but it’s important to remember there is a butt for every seat, a story to every car, and a shared passion between all in the hobby and industry. Being too tied up with one specific model or era denotes a collector over an enthusiast, while business is necessary and part in parcel with cars (like any commodity), true car guys can come to appreciate the full plethora of makes and models that bond us as car people (gals and guys).

It’s crazy how the value systems work and it’s funny seeing everyone outside of America get angry (Canada, Europe, AUS) because USA market is solely driving up the values of R32-34s. Even base model non turbo automatics are going up in value, it’s insane. My advice to anyone that actually has the money definitely buy a skyline now as it’s a sure investment into the future, an investment you can enjoy!
@terabyteultra16734 жыл бұрын

@GeeVyfRandASB4 жыл бұрын
Uhm what?You guys aren’t driving up the value,a Skyline R34 V Spec in South Africa would cost half of what it would cost you,they go for $40 000 here.

Brad Lawry uhhh sorry you break it to You but R34 GTR base go for $80-100k in America lmao
@GeeVyfRandASB4 жыл бұрын
Andre Klebleyev Yeah keywords being “in America “ your comment says you’re driving up the value,but you’re not like I said a R34 GTR in South Africa would go for R650 000 which is around $40 000 and that’s legally registered,a rebuild with a build up title goes for R250 000 which is around $15000,what that means is the person stripped the car down,shipped it “as parts” rebuilt it here and got its title scrapped and reregistered.
@AndreKlebleyev4 жыл бұрын
Brad Lawry markets gonna sell to the market who’s paying the most for them, why hold them for countries that are paying $50k for them when USA are paying 100k+, that’s what I mean by driving up the market. Hence why a lot of them in japan are waiting and refusing to sell a lot of them still 2024-2025 because then they’ll be even more $$$

I can remember sitting inside a brand new red r34 gtr v spec before they were released to public. It was at the Birmingham NEC motorshow in UK back in 1998/1999. The r34 was in a big glass box and we had to queue up for about 45 minutes to get inside. I Can remember looking over it and was just so excited and had to queue up again to have a sit inside . I could barely reach the pedals as I was only 8 years old. But I recently found the pictures I took of the front / rear and engine bay, looking at them now brings back so many good memories. Oh and I still have the official R34 gtr brochure that they were giving out. I still have it in mint condition after all these years. :-)

Craig was like a hero to me he already had this car R34 and was modded tf out !!!! 😮😮😮😮 Seeing the blackbird as well as Craig's over the top Blue R34 probably solidified my love for Nissan and especially that car ! Well said at the end Craig - Cars are one of those hobbies that bring us all closer. Finding someone with the same car as you and becoming best friends instantly just like finding someone wearing the same shirt as you in school. I've always been a Euro guy growing up and enjoyed my local Euro shows, but after finally getting my r33 gtr, getting to know the local jdm community has felt just like F&F with meeting up all the time and helping each other out with builds. I've been watching the markets for the past 5 years since the r32 legalization and that's why I bought and stored my 33 gtr earlier in 2018 to avoid the price creep. Now r34's are really starting to skyrocket especially when you factor in supply but to me personally I could never see myself spending 6 figures on a car that old, especially when there are so many other jdm classics that can be had and built for half the cost. Unfortunately this skyhigh cost will make the car pretty unobtainable for most of the car scene and I think the only place I'll be seeing it will be my local Cars and Coffee in a few years.
@jacobasuncion31324 жыл бұрын

@joeottsoulbikes4154 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate the videos you make. The history and information about these cars is very interesting. There is a show called JDM Masters on KZbin that talk about all sorts of unusual or special model JDM cars. You are so right about the prices of Skylines, R34 in particular. On their show they have gone to used car lots in Japan where they film and priced out R34's in bad shape, modes and high mileage at over $60k US. Other models of Skyline less but not really lower than $15k for a clapped out 2nd gen Skyline. They have found many in junkyards and just sitting in yards of lazy mechanics. Plus there may be upward of 150 or more R34s parted out. They went to a few used parts mega stores as tuning is big in Japan. They found that one of those mega stores has purchased many R34 cars and completely parted them out as they can get upward of $200k us selling every little part individually in Japan and online. Motor, dash, guages, body panels, frame parts, you name it. They continue doing it slowly. I feel the inventory of cars on the road is far far less than even you estimated. I know a guy in Tacoma WA buying them and cutting them up to just import the front clip for the motor, firewall, dash and wiring. My advise would be. If you want one go to Japan right now. Buy one on a used lot since you will be able to shop around right now and test drive. Properly prep the car and store it away in a self storage in a dinky town in Japan for the lowest rent possible. When the time comes get your paperwork in line and ship it over. If you snooze you will loose!

Hello, Firstly I would like to say, that Im a huge fan of your channel. Im a fan of the FaF series since the first episode, when I was 9 years old. I was sitting in the living room, and waiting for my father to put the brand new VHS tape from local video rental shop,to our video player. Then I was watching in those days in my country (Czech republic), unknown world. We were few years after communism era, and most of the cars on the steets were still old crappy socialsm cars or some 80s cheap German cars or Fords, but watching cars on the hydros, with NOS (that magic button on the steering wheel!!) Etc. Etc. Wad like to escape to the space for me and my friends. This continue till today, but my reason is, that the final episode of real FaF was no. 5. After that its sooo scifi action mpvie, with hyper modern guns, top end hypersports aaaand, thats all. Cars are only things to make it much more cool I would say? But they do not care about them any more.... Ok, now one question for you. Can I ask you more info, or will you do some video about famous Hectors track Honda Civic? O:)... and one more, since I was a child, and saw the movie for the first time, there was a shoot at the beggining of the Race wars and also the scene when Leon was blocking the steet agains Rob Cohen :D. There was a green/brown Station wagon, probably on air ride and big chrome wheeld and without the hood. I really loved that car, but i still do not know, what was that? Looks like a Honda Station Wagon? Any info specs? Thaaank you Craig :))

Kinda bums me out that even after the R34 GTR is legal, it’ll be way too expensive for anyone that dreamed of owning one, to buy. Hell even for people that do have a fair amount of money, it’s too much to justify having a car that’s worth so much but you can’t drive for another 4 years in the states. I wanted one so bad, I was a kid playing gran turismo when I found out about it and have wanted one for so long. I’ve had R34 GTR’s as my computer screen wallpaper and phone background for years and got Hot Wheels model R34 GTR’s when I was younger. I just hope the prices won’t go up too much, maybe if they don’t go over $100,000 I could justify owning one since it’ll surely lose no value any time soon.

BNR34s will be $125k to $150k for an average condition one. And they will pull the values of the 32 and 33 up with them. I bought one of the first BNR32's to come into the country under the 25 year rule back in 2014. I paid "a lot" for it at the time - which was $22k. Based on how clean that car was, it would sell for around $40k today. I bought my BCNR33 from Global Auto back in January for $51k. It's got a thorough build sheet done by a reputable builder in Japan. (N1 block, 2.7L forged Tomei bottom end, etc) and it would sell for close to $60k if I flipped it today - just 6 months after it landed in the USA. These cars are appreciating in value and they won't stop appreciating in value until at least 2026. I think that's about when we'll see them plateau. Clean BNR32 will be $50-55k. Clean BCNR33 will be $75-80k. Clean BNR34 will be $125 to $150k. And a clean DBA R35 will be $45-50k ;)

@Craig, I see you showing a 240z here. But why did none of the Fast and Furious films feature an S30z? Perhaps 1 of the greatest cars and JDM cars of all time!

The s30 is Sung Kang's personal car........Greddy built it for him.........it is skyline powered.......non turbo........it has itb's

Interesting pricing. Consider that people do not connect the car to paul as they have never seen footage of him driving it. It will never have the status of a movie car/ cars from his private collection that were auctioned. Would be interesting to know if someone is willing to pay such a big premium for this gtr.

Boy oh boy...I really hope I end up winning the lottery before 2024 to own one of these in the UK, because it's obvious these beauties will be shipped out of the UK and Europe into the USA. ;-;

GT-R prices are known to be "extra" high(cuz it is a GT-R) but man...other R34 Skylines prices are mad..."common" R34 25GT(RB25DE NEO - non turbo) was sold around 11 000 USD...and it was not even in a good condition. Prices of all R34 skyrocketed since new year.

Yea but 11k for a regular Skyline, plus GTR panels, fully rebuilt RB28, new paint, wheels, brakes, interior, etc will be WAAAAAAY less then 150k. Fawq the GTR markup. I’d rather build my own and have a FRESH Skyline for a REASONABLE Price. That 300k 25 year old GTR will need 50 grand worth of maintenance and repairs by the time it gets here. All seals toast, engine is tired, trans is tired, etc. 🤦🏻♂️

Love this channel!! Because I watched this video I got another paul walker gtr video recommended and the dude that imports them talks about the black one Paul "bought". It actually looks like the garage in this video. I imagine you guys know each other. But question, he said that the others in the movie were GTTs. I thought you said they were all real GTRs. Love the channel man!!

There is no one to take care of those cars so it's better they are sold to someone who will take care of them and do them justice.

Someone did an urban exploration video here on KZbin a couple of years ago in the town next to the Fukishima Plant zone and there was one scene where they were walking down a street. One guy said "Hey look at this" and the camera panned across the street and there, sitting in the grass on the side of the road was a white R34 GTR... abandoned! Still looked pretty good except one window was either broken out or down so the interior was probably not in good shape. What a waste.

Believe it or not, I actually just completed the Underground career mode yesterday for the first time. The AI and the ending pissed me off, but it's still a classic game and customization options seem endless. I will be starting Underground 2 here in a few days...
