Saw Paul play the 100 Club in the early 90s... had a beer with Mick Talbot who was sitting at the bar, lovely experience. Waiting for Paul to make it back to Tokyo.

He’s a true music fan. But I’m ow convinced almost everything he’s done except Going underground and stone rifles is ripped off. For instance Broken Stones is just Oh Happy Day recycled .

It all went downhill after 1997s “Heavy Soul”. To lose Steve White was a disaster.
And with that line to the drummer, Whitey was off never to return

IMO 2000-2008 is Weller’s worst period. There were some good songs but a lot felt stodgy and uninspiring. The stuff he’s done since 22 Dreams has overall been of a high standard.
@Juxall-official3 жыл бұрын
Coincidentally or not, he also stopped boozing around 2008’and hasn’t drank since.
@redacted22753 жыл бұрын
I really like "As is Now", the production has a unique punch, but other than that I agree. "22 Dreams" was the last great album and I think his releases after "Wake Up the Nation" are uninspired. "Wake Up..." is not bad but it is very naive.
