I’m a born and raised Californian who totally agrees that Paul Weller should have a HUGE audience here but alas doesn’t in the U.S.🫤. And I love that he did Neil Young’s song BIRDS…it makes me appreciate him even more. It’s a deep dive beautiful song most never mention (gotta add that Linda Ronstadt did a beautiful Live rendition decades ago). Because Paul has such a wide range of musical tastes, styles and is really a music historian I think that’s what makes him so invaluable as an artist. He’s always interesting and never boring!❤️

he does and i got into a fight with fans when i said Wild Wood was his Neil Young album. idiots. I just left the argument and told them to look up the period and placement of Paul's Ohio cover. The New Album is staggering and heavy on poignant ballad melodies. You can go to Rise Up Singing and see both my notes if wish before they drop. He'e on full Us and Canada tour this summer. Dee has Acid Jazz album and tour with stever white contracted to drum the entire tour. I'll you one thiing: Acid Jazz did not guarantee Steve's fee. They don't have that kind of money. Paul did it under the table because the fist wife and first husband have a cross promotion plan . Pay close attention. If you love Paul I love YOU.

Still, up to today, mention paul weller to most music listeners, and they haven't heard of, let alone the style council or the jam. He's one that slips by for one reason or the other, i did the Saturns patterns show right up the road from me, i was at a diner and reading the metro paper for some shows, someone to see @ bearsville or Woodstock, whatever , then i see paul weller playing at northern lights, the burger almost dropped out me mouth, great show.

11 years old and I still remember dancing round my bedroom with a few mates as the jam blared from the record player , 45 years old and I'm sat in my bedroom watching Paul live on iPad , that's entertainment

It’s a shame Paul hasn’t received the same level of respect and appreciation here in the states. Popular culture here has been dumbed down to the least common denominator. All flash and little substance. His fans here are really loyal and appreciate his genius. I vividly remember the first time I heard the All Mod Cons album in my dorm room in 1979. Been a fan ever since. Long live the Modfather!!

I agree, but all my buddies are huge PW fans. He is so British, his phrasing, his overall vibe, but his music has so much to take in, that every time I listen, I hear new stuff. As with literature, a classic is defined as enduring the test of time and growing along with every spin.

Love how Weller manages to pick and choose tracks from his vast back catalogue that just hit the spot. You get settled, then: BOOM! He whisks you off to another time and place, where you bought 'that' album, or where you first heard 'that' song or who you were with when he released 'that' track. The bloke's a magician as well as amazing songwriter and performer. Weller for Poet Laureate!

I've also been a big fan since I was child. I'm now 50.. My work happened to bring me to spend time working on tour with him back in 2010. I had to speak to him regarding work and as it was summer he was sitting outside under a gazebo backstage playing his guitar when I went to see him. It was surreal to sit with him for an hour chatting while he strummed away singing different parts of his songs. It was the first time I've been starstruck and it was because he was so down to earth......my childhood memories flashed before me as I sat talking to him.
