One the great songs of the 80s and the Jam just ain't the Jam without Weller.

Agreed but the Jam was a trio Ricks drums and Bruce's bass which made the band. Weller was not the Jam

Yeah, I just watched the other TCM @ Glasto live with the drums in the very capable hands of Steve White, so much better. Keyboard on here sounds like my Gran.
@QuadMochaMatti3 жыл бұрын
Why do they need two percussionists here to create the sound that Rick did alone, and with an extra guitarist here, you think they could do better than when it was just Paul and Bruce, but it isn't.
@redacted22753 жыл бұрын
Yeah... his current band is fine playing his solo stuff (although I really miss Steve White, his new drummer is so sloppy!) but they feel like old men playing The Jam... and Weller is the oldest one, ironically. It feels like they don't inspire Weller.

There will never ever be anotherband like the jam. Ive loved weller for over 40 odd years, but bruce and rick were such an integral part of the greatest ever band. And having seen the modfather loads of times live, its still even now, appropriate that the biggest cheers r always for jam songs. Simply cos its wellers greatest legacy.

Pete Townshend maybe didn't do anything relevant past that age, but Paul Weller arguably made some his best material with The Style council and during his solo career.
