I would have loved to have seen them in 1980. Townshend sober of drugs, Kenny Jones giving the band a new lease of life. Total musical powerhouse. Instead I was born three years later. Still got to see the 2000 tour though, which was pretty much the same deal, but with Townshend sober from booze and Zak Starkey giving them a new lease of life.

I saw them the first time in 1968 at The Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL. We had the best seats in the house atop the photo finish stand. That night they played backup to The Association. Saw them at The Mississippi River Festival in Edwardsville, IL in 1972 and one last time at The Checker Dome in St. Louis right after Quadrophenia was released. At 71 they still make me jump!!!

I love this combo. A genius move after Entwistle's bass sound took up so much sonic space. Pino brings out a soul/modern influence in The Who. Townshend said he loved how Pino will be playing in pocket and then just hit you with an insane fill. A shame he's left the band now.

I liked these guys when I was a kid in Germany in the 60's and over the years yeah... they were interesting characters specially Pete T. I was never really into their music, not because it wasn't good enough but I turned to Jazz in the mid 70's and got away from this stuff. But I really liked and admired these guys. Good to see the PT and RD got over their personal issues and came together again to take their rightful places in Musical History.

Right l have a small claim to fame as many years ago l was working as a building surveyor for a local who had just bought a music and film studios and saved from the bulldozers and spent a lot of money by doing it up. So one afternoon l was summoned to go to one of the studios and as l carefully picked my through all cables on the floor l found myself standing next to Ric Starr sitting at a drum set 😊(Ringo's son ) there standing in front of me was the Who plus PJ Proby who was there as a backing singer. Pleased to say that they all signed my Quadrafenia album that is the record not the CD. I Did see a few more groups Such as Garbage but nothing would better than watching them rehearsal there next Quadrafenia concert.

The Who and Zep are the bands of my teen years. My favorite bands. But whoever is speaking here is 100% wrong. The Who were never at the vanguard of the British Invasion in the mid 60's along with The Beatles and Stones. It basically took Monterey to really break them here. And they never were chart toppers like The Beatles and Stones.

They only played the acoustic version in 2019 Tour and 1996-1997. In 2022 Tour they play the fast electric version again (only the first two сoncerts in April were acoustic, all other shows - fast/rock/electric version). They had a series of concerts in may-june, you can find them on youtube. All you need to do is type in on KZbin: Won't Get Fooled Again 2022 . And the tour will continue in October 2022.
