As far as music goes, the 1970s and 1980s were probably the best eras. (1960 honorable mention in 3rd place) In my opinion, this was the golden age of music. All the 4 elements Vocals, Instruments, Dancing and Stage Performance. In R&B and Soul the use of the violins and winds instruments.

In February 1977 I was at the Atlanta Airport with my wife and 1 year old son. We were waiting for a flight to LAX. Right across from us were the members of Rose Royce-- they were so friendly and engaging-- I have remembered that vividly for 46 years.

A Boston radio station used to play this at noon sharp for many many years, it was always so nice to know you could make an appointment to hear it . Long before cell phone juke boxes !!
