I'm down this rabbit hole too. I love Paul's energy. If you haven't yet, you should definitely check out "The roots of backpropagation" and "The handbook of intelligent control", the first is the re-edition of Paul's doctoral thesis. The second is a still-relevant encyclopedia of systems control, very much in Paul's headspace. This stuff is now 50 years old and it reads as fresh as ever. I am completely floored by the state of things in this community, which I admittedly know very little about.

@@Lolleka hey simultaneous rabbithole explorer. werbos' website is a strange strange place. it seems he is now much more interested in the phenomenal nature of it all rather than the mechanical. it's strange how the man behind it all is now a somewhat unknown figure and hinton gets almost the entire credit. has he been disowned by the NN community for his unrestrained ideas in other domains? from what I have read he is a very talented man even delving into quantum mechanics. why on earth would someone NOT be interested in his thoughts on backprop in the brain?
