Just a tip for using parchment paper or wax paper I always use 4 clip on clothes pins to hold it in place....Before you put it in the oven take them off....Works great

Here's another tip, don't ever put wax paper in the oven as it's not designed to go into there at all, and the wax can melt onto your food. Parchment paper is the stuff you put in your oven.

This looks so good! 😋 I don't use unsalted butter, I use salted butter. If I'm making a recipe that calls for unsalted butter I'll use salted butter, but then I'll usually leave out the salt that the recipe calls for. The only thing I've made that using salted butter had a noticeable taste difference was when I was making Italian Meringue Buttercream. When I made that with salted butter it was very noticeable that I had used salted butter. However, I also didn't like it the time I made it using unsalted butter. It of the two the salted one definitely tasted better, but I think a mix of the two is better. For every other recipe I make I use salted butter.

Oh my gosh - Blue Bell homemade ice cream is the best! Us northerners can't get that brand up here. Years ago, I made 2 trips a year down south and would always buy Blue Bell homemade vanilla ice cream. Sure wish we could get it up here in Indiana! Love these shows and love you Paula!

I plan to make these blondies but will toast the nuts in the oven for about 8 minutes while it's preheating. This will enhance the nutty flavor and give the baked product extra crunch. You can make your own vanilla extract from vanilla bean paste and then add vodka to it and then soak it up in glass jars and then put it in dark part of your pantry

I thought the same hung Paula as you put the unsalted butter in the caramel sauce....I’m using salted butter and omitting the salt you added to the sauce. I’m doing the same with the brownies.

Looks delish...blondies are my favorite too. I also started out making my own vanilla with perpetual vanilla...now I just get beans and put in my spiced rum bottle and then use my pp bottle for it. I have 2 bottles of capt morgans spiced rum vanilla I made back in 2011...yummmm
