Its time to get stitching on the Slow and Steady Quilt Along.
This week I will guide you through making my easy version of the Cathedral Window block. This is a super quick and easy start to the Quilt Along.

I have just come across this and wanted to say how impressed I am with your presentation. Professional, informative and not drawn out so I lose my attention. You’ve got me. I am going to make this quilt.

Thank you, thank you!! Fortunately, I just now tripped into your website and find the easiest -- yes!! the absolute easiest--cathedral block of all I viewed to date. Thank you so much. I noticed that there would be a quicker method of cutting the smaller squares for those more familiar with rotary cutters and sizing and with better imaginations, but for greenhorns (quite like me), it is easy to understand the cutting method of those squares without screwing up volumes of fabric on some kind of "time economical" method of cutting. I cannot see where fabric is wasted here, where with other methods, there are multiple layers of fabric, and a number of other fabrics for the window "inserts" that are used in those windows. Again, much appreciation for your detailed explanation. Tess from USA

Very simple...thank you ...I love to fussy cut, but a small print fabric or sold color fabric can also be used. Some people think that fussy cutting fabric is wasteful. I am an EPP fan, and do a lot of fussy cutting.

Certainly not a new technique, it’s been around for some years. But well explained and demonstrated. Because there is a seam allowance all around the block, it can be joined to other blocks, which is not possible with traditional Cathedral Windows technique. Also, unlike the traditional version, this method will require a backing. So it does require a lot of fabric, but so does the traditional technique.

I don't think this is simple. There are much easier ways.

Could the cutting of the background squares be any less efficient l? Why not cut realistically using subcut strips? Safety first if you're publishing a tutorial
