Dump those fish in a 20 litre bucket, half filled with sea water, instead of laying them on the sand. That way they get rid of all the sand that they have scooped up on their way in. Especially important if the heads are to be eaten. We use the entire fish after gutting and scaling. The chickens get the last of it after making fish stock from the frames.
