III. Elect infants, dying in infancy, are regenerated, and saved by Christ through the Spirit,(m) who worketh when, and where, and how He pleaseth:(n) so also, are all other elect persons who are uncapable of being outwardly called by the ministry of the Word.(o) IV. Others, not elected, although they may be called by the ministry of the Word,(p) and may have some common operations of the Spirit,(q) yet they never truly come unto Christ, and therefore cannot be saved: Dear Paul - When David uttered the following words " I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me" Did David know his child was elect? Is this the reason why the Holy Sprit put these words in his mouth and by extension in the Word of God?

Is that the 1689 London Baptist Confession? I would go further than what is stated there. David's child was part of the covenant. A covenant child could grow up to depart through unbelief, but as this child died so young he could not have died in unbelief. He died within the gracious covenant. God is a God unto us and our children. The Synod of Dort says this in part 1, article 17: "Since we must make judgments about God’s will from his Word, which testifies that the children of believers are holy, not by nature but by virtue of the gracious covenant in which they together with their parents are included, godly parents ought not to doubt the election and salvation of their children whom God calls out of this life in infancy."

@@PastorPaulFlynn Thank you for generously responding, I was actually watching your Hebrew Roots movement which I know is 8 years old now but it is timely with what we are seeing all around us regarding "secrets/codes of the bible." I believe the Lord has told us what we need to know so that we may watch and prepare ourselves however too many eyes and hearts have moved from Jesus Christ to the "special knowledge" and it is concerning. Now I actually visited your site and copied and pasted from there the Elect vs Non Elect of infants. You make a very interesting point regarding the Synod of Dort and their position and I have never heard that from others who hold to a reformed Calvinist position re: infants that die. And it is strange that they do no reference the Synod of Dort. As a father of two small girls my heart is very sensitive to this issue not just for myself but all parents.
