I’ve just discovered Paul Ford! and what an amazing discovery has been! PERFECT TUTORIAL! simple, clear instructions, (not an over the top tutorial-youtuber -voice, ie: “I’m going to hold the scissors in my hand to cut!” 🙄) straight to the point, concise, precise! 🤗 He should start a KZbinr Tutorials College! 😆

Made one, one to go. But I don't have the construction tape so I started out with making the box with paper construction strips. Then I covered all sides of the pieces of the wrap with paper strips like you do with the tape. I hadn't thought about how to connect them though, should have thought of that earlier. The box doesn't look too bad but I keep seeing the imperfections. Alas, the second box will be better, I know what to do now 😂. Due to how I had to connect the pieces of the wrap I didn't glue the spine to the box. My lid lies flat on the surface when the box is open. Otherwise I feared my paper hinge would crack rather soon. But it still works.

You don’t have to have tape at all. In the video I show construction strips (one inch wide and scored down the middle). This is a common method for box construction.

I just gave you incorrect information as I thought you were talking about the Amazonia paper - sorry about that. But for the tape, have you checked out Bunnings? I have obtained some of the best tapes etc., especially for spines and bookbinding. I sound like an advert for these businesses, I am not they just swallow up a lot of my money in crafting supplies.

For those of us in US [chipping makes it prohibitive to order from CreativeCatz] which tape off Amazon is best substitution? Still 'construction tape"? Width? Also, If I use black chip board [grey board to you] can I skip the initial step to tape all edges?
