Hi Paul G. Johnson. I am presently, or have at one time been subscribed to all the photographers you've named, and inspired by all of you. Thank you to all of them and to you Mr. Paul. I also am thankful to David Dixon, who weaves themes of mental health dis-ease and wellness into his video presentations. Sometimes in life I struggle with episodic moods of depression-like symptoms, in spite of which I've manage to remain grateful for my life, health, and consciousness, and hopeful of the joys and contentments yet to come. Landscape, seascape, and astro photography have provided reason for me to spend plenty of time outdoors, near the ocean, and under the stars. Everything I've learned has come from examples and lessons provided by KZbin content creators. There are so many. The list is exhausting, and no matter how many I could try to name, some will inevitably be left out. So I say thank you to all who have ever provided an informative or entertaining photography video, and thank you all for your stories!!
@PaulGJohnsonphotography3 жыл бұрын
Lovely comment Ricky, I think most now suffer with some form of mental health issues, in todays modern society, however some more than others. Getting outside and under the stars is "gravy for the soul" and can help .

I've found quite a lot of my jaunts out have turned into 'scouting' missions. Awaiting better light, or enough water in the burns to be interesting or for the wind to bugger off. Fed up coming away with nothing I'm now shooting texture in flat light, waiting for the wind to blow across the grasses to create flow and losing the horizon in the grey atmospheric recession, all in B&W. Suddenly looking with different eyes. I used to subscribe to James. He talks a lot of sense and was one of the first to start telling people to forget the rules and shoot what takes your interest; but his chop video editing did my head in. Congrats to him on his first born.
@PaulGJohnsonphotography3 жыл бұрын
Ian, I too shoot a lot of intimate stuff in mono, I'll be doing a video on it soon. Unfortunately b&w photography isn't that poplar these days but it's my favourite genre to shoot. Thanks for the comment .

thanks for another great video Paul - there's always something extra to the photography with your channel.I first started watching KZbin in 2016 and the first photographer that the search engine "recommended" was someone called Thomas Heaton.From that moment on the KZbin photography world literally exploded for me and I now have a very formidable arsenal of "friends" who I watch week in, week out(not because I have to but because I want to).Five years on and I have no idea how I came upon some of the vloggers I watch but it HAS been like a journey of discovery - and, like a family tree, somewhere along the line I was led to you.Thanks for everything Paul.Peace.xx.

Hi Paul, just got chance to watch as I've been away at the coast to North Wales. And 'inspiration' was something that i was most desperately searching for ? As when those perfect sunrises & sunsets that you wish for just don't happen, you too can feel a little flat! But, I learnt to embrace the cloud & grey and just go with it. And that's because of the inspiration I get from watching you, Tom & Lynne also :) So thank you. The images & story of your time shooting with Adam in Yorkshire is really special, that place means so much to you with all those memories. X
